My attitude is buy a home and get on with life. It may fall it may rise, but who gives a !!!!!! in the long run - is money really that important? We're all poor in the grave:A

Being deep in negative equity, the stress, drops in pay, no savings, creditors chasing you = Important.

Many financial decisions about money are important. Choosing to buy when you are convinced house prices have a lot further to fall, and it would financially disadvantage you massively, is important.

I've read many posts of people regretting not to accepting an offer, choosing to hold out for the price they believe their home is worth, only to see it slip in value significantly.

You have a point in the wider context of things, but yes, money is important. Very much so. If you've got no money, you might find you've got few friends.

Wow Dopester, you TOTALLY missed the point of that movie (Trading Places). The whole premise is based on the fact that the rich guy had few real friends and lost them when he lost his money. He made true friends when he was penniless.

Still, your post gives a great insight into why you are who you are. 'Living Life' = 'Reposession, debtors prison, death and crucifixion'. LOL.
"I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.

The bold bit I found funny. There is some truth in that.

That is a nice little review on Trading Places, Harry. I understood it perfectly thanks Harry, but I'm glad you accepted the Hollywood finish that he really found true friends when he was broke.

In the real world it's unlikely someone like Ophelia (Jamie Lee Curtis) would have given him a place to stay when he was down and out. She herself was turning tricks to support herself in a world where money really matters. If she didn't seem him as a possible pay-day he'd have been on his own to work it out.

Look how Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) was treated by people at the start of the movie when he had no money, when he was begging, and later in the bar when former hostile acquaintances didn't know he'd come into money. They didn't care about his skintness.
