i have a worcester non-condensing - ie combi - boiler installed in April of last year. it has never worked properly, constantly needs re-topping up with water and there are numerous leaks in the pipework, and rads go on and off with the temperature up and down like tarts drawers and its driving me mad.

The incompetent rude Corgi pig that installed it has consistently refused to come back and sort it out. Having switched on heating again for the first time this year, its not working properly again - any ideas folks? many thanks

We have just received a card from a company called Powersave who are basically offering to professionally install an energy efficient Heating system as part of a programme and is offering a (SUBSTANTIAL SUBSIDY) for those interested/eligible. have you come across the company or the project. They do have a web address https://www.powersave.uk.com if anyone can help. I have currently got an Ideal II which is about 15 years old
"Did you hear about the frog that broke down on the motorway???? They toad him away!"
  • Hi, did you get any info on Powersave and did you go ahead with them? we have had a card and I want to check them out before going any further. cheers, Polly.

We have also just received a card through our door from powersave.uk.com & we are just about to replace our heating system after 20years.

Does anyone have any comments on this company? Good,Bad or??

    Thanks
    Bob -Cambridge
  • Just to let people know that powersave have now changed their name to envirogen heating ltd this is their website http://envirogenheating.com/
Powersave is no longer trading, I wonder why.
  • I know why, because they install sub-standard or systems that become obsolete a few months later

I can't believe this company is still getting away with ripping people off (and they called themselves a family run business). They make promises they have no intention of keeping. They got me in March 2006. The boiler they installed has never been flushed through properly and so parts have corroded and unless I pay £500ish to have it flushed this will keep happening.

    Stay well clear.
  • Yes they are still ripping people off telling them they will pay £200.00 cashback for monitoring their central heating. Guess what they never receive the money.

Probably in a couple of years when they have ripped enough people off they will disappear and then pop up again under another name.
  • It appears they have done their disappearing trick again.

We signed up with them Sept 2008 and been trying to get hold of them for over a month and now for money they were going to give us. But if you ring their 0800 number you get told the number is no longer recognised and we've been sending them our monthly usage reports for what appears all for nothing.

I'm guessing we're not going to see our yearly cash back then?

Does anyone know if Trading Standards have anything on them? Is it even worth getting them involved?
  • mmm well to be quite honest that is what happens when you employ a company to fit a boiler who are not CORGI registered and who are offering deals that appear to be to good to true, we recently had a new boiler fitted in our house here in central london and we are very very happy with the servuce that we recieved, so much so that i strongly reccommend this company if you want a CORGI registered person to come and fit a new boiler, Owen Lord Property Maintenance Services did a magnificent job at installing our new boiler, they where friendly and professional from the beginning to the end, even advising us on which boiler would be more efficient, we eventually went for a new Glow Worm boiler and it is working perfectly!! to be honest we where a little put off by the price in the beginning as of course it is the recession and money is tight but the owner Owen calmly directed me to this website to see the reasons behind the costs of fitting a new boiler, type ''mike the boiler man'' in google and you will find it; we were surprised to learn that itt is illegal to have someone come out and fit a boiler who is not corgi registered and also the boiler must be a combi boiler to comply with regulations if it isnt you face a massive problem when you come to sell your property! anyway enough of an essay, this is the companies phone number, by the way they cover all of London and the home counties!! 07865 418 417. Best Wishes, Jane.
