    hi,
i will be a full time university student, my disabled husband will be a part time uni student our son who is disabled going into 6th form to do GCSE's as the last four years had lots of medical problems, will he be able to claim EMA?
the last two years family been living on benefits.

also if he is entitled to it what happens when he misses a day for hospital appointments? this is when well one day every six weeks?
  • hi there tell me this please!!

I currently go to school and get £30 per week, however also some people dont go to school because they didnt get/ want to go back into school so they went off into a tech, They all get roughly about £40 per week.

I find that a good amount of these people who go into these tech's dont acc attend the class and seem to enter careers that seem to be dry and leaving them no real further. Such as bricklaying and electrics. So tell me this for the people who can't afford to goto school anymore without EMA then they will end up going into tech's, leaving themselves in a position where there job opportunites are very limited, and all for what saving the government money in the short term, which they may be forced to pay in the longer term due to unemployment.

I do understand why people are angry about mr and mrs perfect kid getting EMA!

In short, if they don't attend the classes then they should not realistically be receiving this money.
I would have to disagree with you re brick laying and electrics (and plumbing)though. If they learn a trade and learn it well then the odds are that they will not be short of work. Many tradesmen that I know are doing extremely well for themselves financially and there is a waiting list for their services.
It is like with school, you can stay on, get decent grades and go to uni, that doesn't mean that you will choose the right degree or secure a job afterwards. It really is down to the individual.

I completely agree there, however all that I am saying is that yes I know the best tradesmen do very well money ways. But if there is too much tradesmen who only do a trade for a short term gain, e.g getting paid £40 a week, in the long term it will be have worse off effect on not only the person but every tax payer, this is just what I believe.

I can see your point too.
