Without a doubt the transport for london site is brilliant for non Londoners. As an ex london cab driver I don't have a problem getting about ,although it is quicker by tube I prefer to use the buses as with my knackered hip joints escalators are not much fun. I hope you enjoy your trip though. I am going to see the 'Jersey Boys' with my eldest DD in a couple of weeks time.We will also have lunch out probably in a Bella Italia as I adore their food, and its not that expensive and its spotlessly clean.
I had a great day in Bluewater and bought three pairs of shoes, and treated my youngest DD to a pretty blue handbag as she is such a good lass to me throughout the year, and I just felt like giving her a nice something just for herself as she works so hard and rarely ever treats herself as she always spends her extra cash on the children.
Bitsy I am addicted to Flashforward its great isn't it.
DGS Danny has just stuck his head around the door to make sure I'm o.k. and help me out with some spare cake that just happened to be sitting in the tin waiting for him to sample;)
Tonight its Holby City and maybe Joseph will take his shirt off again as he did last week (pity there isn't a smiley that shows a little old lady dribbling:D) he definitely makes my temperature rise anyday:);)
Right I'm off now to sort out something to eat, probably the last of the tuna and pasta salad I think.
    Have a good evening chums

Evening all.....................(((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.

We have been out in pouring rain and snow most of the day. We had an appointment with the solicitor to make new wills, our old ones are null and void as we now live in Scotland and Scots law is different to English law. We then travelled on to see a friend in Kinross, via Dunelm, I needed cushion pads for my guest room cushions.

A lovely lunch of soup, quiche and salad and fruit, and a good old gossip, whilst watching the snow floating down outside. We travelled home in snow and then pouring rain.

Our plastic greenhouse has collapsed onto the oil tank, no way am I going out to sort it out until its stopped raining. It never moved at the old house, but the constant rain has softened the ground so much the pegs all pulled out.

We are forecast heavy snow and blizzards tonight, I just hope the electricity holds up. We will be ok for heat in the sitting room with the wood burner and I can cook on the top of it, I really must get a picnic gas stove and also a gas lamp, just in case...........

Just had a couple of rounds of seeded bread and cheese and a hot cross bun toasted, OH is making a cuppa. I think we had better fill a couple of flasks when we go to bed, just in case.

The portiere rod I ordered at the weekend has arrived, so I suppose I had better get going and remake the curtain for it; it will help to keep the hall warm during the winter.

    Evening all

    (((hugs))) to all

    MSD - love the link!

Wet here all day, bit of hail too. The day at work flew by, I had a meeting with my NVQ assessor and I was a tad worried cos I haven't had much time to spend on it, but she said I'm doing great and only have 3 more bits to do :)

    I freecycled another item today.

I met girls for dinner, went to Pizza Hut and managed to get the Happy Hour even though we got there just after 6pm :) so only cost £4 each.

    Have a good evening all

Lol. Well Butterfly, he would love egg and chips with mushy peas! He adores simple, solid food. He's actually my ex-father in law. My housemate is my ex - just to confuse matters. So I'm super fond of the guy and since he lost his wife, he comes to visit one day a week - I just didn't expect it to be today hence the panic on what to cook.
Plus he very generously gave me £25 for my birthday yesterday which is the equivalent of two weeks grocery money, I'm getting OS obsessed. :rotfl:

Wow! what a complicated set up. My FIL is the same he wont try anything in the least bit exotic or anything thats not old fashioned English cooking :D

  • Evening All!

Just a very quick one from me tonight.

Hi to all the newbies :hello:and huge big ((hugs)) to anybody who needs them!

Been busy the last few days, finally getting OS going in our house again, and my goodness it's needed. Cooked up a large chicken on Sunday and so far we have had 3 days worth of dinners out of it, tomorrow should use the last of it. The washing piles is slowly decreasing - never ceases to amaze me how we go through so many clothes!! I've been using my new flylady-type app on my phone which is helping me re-establish my routine, I love it but I'm such a geek :rotfl:

For anybody who's interested, BIL is still in hospital but has started on his treatment and hopefully we should have an indication of when he will be home in the next few days. He seems really positive, so hopefully things are starting to look up for him.

Also just wanted to say to redruby that I'm feeling your pain - I don't know what on earth the previous owners of our house were thinking sometimes: it really does defy belief!!

Anyway I think I'll be off for an early night, speak to you all tomorrow.
