    Morning peeps

nasty and cold here, its also chucking it down :(

I`ve been wet through a couple of times already, it had stopped when the houndies and i went for our morning walk but we got caught in it on the way back home. Little oldie isn`t very good on his pins today but he was still dancing around the front door wanting to go to the park :D he is a little love, he got extra biscuits from all the regular walkers, everyone walks around with pocketfuls of doggybix.

The second time i got wet was earthing up my spuds, they needed doing and i thought that i might as well do it before i hop in the shower.

Last late shift today :j two days off and then on earlies again, hope that the weather improves pronto and then i can take advantage of the lighter nights and get on in the garden.

Redruby - My sympathies to you, we are another household still sorting out horrible things left by the last people who lived here. Its never ending. We are gradually working around the house room by room and i`ve often joked that we would be better off knocking the whole blooming thing down and starting again from scratch :D

Kitchenbunny - Hope that you feel better soon.

The washing is on the airer upstairs in the spare room again, shame as i`d got used to the nice fresh smell from drying outside again, i`ve just made DH a pasta dish for his tea later and i`ve tupperwared various bits and bobs for me to take to w*rk. Just need to sort out the kitchen now but first i need to find the password to let me pay the extortionate council tax online  its the most hated of all the bills here, i may have to re-register if i can`t find it.

Right i`m off to get things done, have a nice day peeps.

    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Greetings from the People's Republic of North Wales!
Hugs to all who need them - between naughty SD's (I used to feel your pain Lowesy) and stupid rain and snow, snarl. I was planning on doing a little bit of potting, taking advantage of the evenings being lighter - nothing amazing like, just my herbs, salads and tomatoes.
I'm in a bit of an awful mood so I'm going to have to work hard to not go across the road from my office and get a bacon and cheese toastie and a tonne of chocolate. Still, if I start wanting to thump people, it may be necessary.
Also, I have my housemate's dad coming for dinner, anyone got any ideas on what I could cook up for a man who hates fish, is allergic to nuts and doesn't like spicy food that isn't sausage casserole, beef casserole or toad in the hole?
    Thanks!

    Shepherd's Pie?

Roast chicken with potatoes and veg - you could use a chicken breast or leg or else a whole chicken and have carcass for stock and chicken for meals later in the week.

It is raining here again today. DH has taken DD out for driving practice and post has just been delivered so I can have a nice long shower in peace, then strip the bed and get washing machine on.

Might make pizza for tea and need to get DH to go to bank to pay rent for DD's student house for the next quarter.

Will have to dip into savings as bungalow needs decorating and new carpets before we contact an EA, everything else seems to have been sorted out but it has taken ages.

Might brave the rain later and get milk and eggs etc as I don't want to have to be out if the weather gets really bad later in the week.

    Hugs to everybody.

    afternoon :D

Redruby I HATE painting ceilings  at having to do it twice

have just booked 2 days in london for me and DD1 , for when she has finished her GCSE's , we are going to see a show and then we are going to hit oxford street :j and covent garden :j
I have only been to London once before , so the tube should be hysterical as neither of us has any sense of direction
really looking forward to it though :)

    back to work now

No sense of direction shouldn't be a problem - just bear in mind that the tube map is not to scale, and there can be quite a distance between stops even though it doesn't look like it on the map!

Let us know your itenary nearer the time and I see if I can help. We go down the West End quite often. I used to get the tube thinking it was far and now walk it in much less time :o What show are you planning to see?

    Bitsy - Where are yoooooooooou ? :D

    I am here :D

Sorry couldn't post yesterday but read the thread. Ran out of time as Flash Forward was starting and I can't miss that :rotfl: I too watch Glee - bit disappointed that it's off for as the Americans call it "Spring Break" grrrr but I guess the next 3 weeks will pass far too quickly at any rate.

Busy day yesterday, ended up having to go out and buy a bag of spuds and some fruit and veg and then went to the dance shop to buy my tap shoes :D
Had my first tap lesson last night. Boy did it bring back memories - especially some of the music/lessons on the tapes (not even CD's - just shows how old those lesson tapes are :rotfl:) Teacher is a bit dippy but very friendly. Was definately just chucked in at the deep end  It was a case of just try and join in which I thought was just a wee bit unfair - my brain hasn't been tested like that for at least 22 years :rotfl: Still have to pay for 10 weeks in one go. Had fun, will try and next 10 weeks and if I can't get on with it I shall try looking elsewhere. Can't really complain at £2.95 a lesson though!

Anyway busy morning today too. Soft play, nursery drop off, one of mindees mums dropped round for a coffee so nattering to her. Cleaned bathroom, changed towels and hung one load of washing. Just had my lunch  Am struggling to stay on top of housework at the mo. By the time mindee goes to nursery I have been on the go since 7.30am and just want to sit down :o that doesn't really get the house work done so I am going to have to push myself and at least do some everyday. May mean my time on here is curtailed boo hoo :(

Redruby - in our first house they had put artex on the ceiling in the kitchen (which was the length of the house so pretty big area). When we put in central heating it started to dry out properly and came unstuck in parts from the ceiling. So we decided to scrape it off. Took a whole day to remove around one square metre and the rest was stuck fast  Ended up plastering over the whole ceiling again. Like yours previous owners were codgers - they even wallpapered over a vent in the bedroom

lowesy - hope your DH sorts out SD good and proper. Sounds like she's playing one off against the other - naughty girl!

jackieG - :rotfl: @ dog borstal

kitchenbunny - hope you get on OK at the Dr's

jc - hope your back is better soon xx

NPM - hope you're OK and that your birthday went well xx

Bargainbird - according to something I heard on the news manflu is a geniune thing.....apparantly blokes do suffer worse with cold or something. Sounds like a load of old tosh ;) :rotfl:

Sorry if I have missed anyone out.
Hugs to those that need them.
Have a dry afternoon - chucking it down here :(
