My sat nav is a complete nightmare! If there's a road closure there is nothing I can do. I can set it to not to do a u turn but then it just tries to go around the block. Last year I had to cancel 2 jobs because I just couldn't find my way to them due to a road closure. I couldn't even use my common sense or sense of direction as it was country lanes and I was completely lost. I gave up in the end and went home.

What make is your sat nav MG?

I haven't had any probs with TT, This new thing they have, you can buy it for 50 quid no subscription and it is retro fit also. So any TT owners can retro fit the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver and no more delays. If there is a RTA on your route and road gets closed, you will be rerouted.

PS just seen them on Amazon for 26 quid.....great price. Mine came with my kit but TT sell them at 50 i think.

Hmm, I had a retail eyes job to do tomorrow, I have just gone on there and it has dissappeared.

Is this a stamp shop one?

I've had THREE emails in the last hour to say the client has decided not to continue with these now and that they would be removed without loss of points - I emailed back to say I did mine yesterday & got an immediate reply to say payment would still be made - I should think so too! :D

Its a Garmin. Pain in the backside. I only use it so I dont get lost but most of the time it takes me the long way around - even though I have it set to quickest route. I then tried setting it to fastest route and its just rediculous, still takes me all around the houses. I had to go to a town about 20 miles away once as I was selling my car and husband came too but in his car. I went via sat nav and he went via instinct. He got there 30 minutes before me! I must have seen every residential road in the area!

    Ha ha,

I'm the same as your hubby.........read the destruction's always...

My OH is exactly like you, he never ever reads the instructions then comes to me saying "whats going on here" etc etc

If you get into settings or change profile, it should have one that says 'avoid motorways' avoid toll roads, and some other settings.

    Good luck :)

Thanks will give that a go.

Ironically it's the other way round here. Me who doesn't read the instructions figures things out and knows how they work whilst hubby is clueless. You should see him trying to change the time on the video player (yes we still have one and use it!). :rotfl:The stupid thing is he works in electricals but cannot figure out the household ones!

Sorry, couldn't resist posting again as a miracle has just happened.

I just submitted a report to RE about 10 minutes ago and it's already in my due payments for the 25th. Nearly fainted with shock!

LOL.....aww what a shame, I was thinking of going for Garmin but the reviews said pretty much what your saying. I'm glad I went with TT now. It's my second one this and i don't know what I'd do without it except for lose about 25% of my income and have a car full of maps  Dangerous for me is that, lol

Can I ask roughly how many words everybody wrote in the final part of the Telecom reports please? I seem to have scored quite low and wondered if I read 'brief description' as too brief.

Hmmm, good question. I got 100% for some reports and only 92.5% for a few others and I wrote the same amount in every report. I wrote about 2 paragraphs or one long paragraph.

The feedback I got on the lower scoring was 'not enough additional comments' I answered according to exactly what happened. I can make stuff up or chat BS to pad stuff out but that's unprofessional.

I don't know......don't worry bout it, I don't. I have still had Max on the phone today with some telephone jobs so, I ain't worried.
