  • Take a £20 note and ask them to give you change for a car park

Although surely the point of the transaction is to get a receipt? In which case perhaps the assignment is for those who are already customers?

If it's a GfK job, they just want you to assess the counter service - doesn't matter that you are not a customer. You could ask for change as TG has suggested. What I usually do is try to pay a bill - they always refuse, but that's ok, I just need it to assess the service, it's expected that they won't let you pay a bill there unless you are a customer.

Doing a bank job tomorrow but I'm not a customer of this bank yet need to do a transaction. Can anyone suggest anything that I could do as a transaction? I don't want to look like a right idiot or worse a mystery shopper lol Can't think of anything plausable that doesn't sound stupid.

I've always taken a bag of pre-counted out change and asked for them to change to a note.. never needed a receipt, I think they are suppose to ask if you bank with them before agreeing to do anything.. Never had one ask or refuse to do it...!

Looks like no more MS'ing for me for a while :(

Got admitted to hospital yesterday and had my appendix out last night - am home now but no driving for a week. Never got round to doing all my egg shops and will have to cancel 6 jobs this week - 4 with Gap.

Hope your back on your feet soon. I had to cancel 4 with gap due to illness and I sent an email after cancelling to inform them of that.. haven't been sacked yet...!! In fact they rang to offer me one of the assignments I had cancelled and then wanted to know when I would be back to work...!

Well I think i'm going for some sort of record this weekend. Not only is there the betting shop fiasco going on that I told you about yesterday which is unlikely to get paid by the sounds of it, I've also just done a burger drive thru which took 7 minutes to even reach the order window and then the MOS who took the order said the MOS at the 2nd window was to blame for the wait for not asking all the cars to park up. Then I was given a milkshake instead of the drink I ordered! So looks like Gyp will be sacking me when they read that report.

Lol, you might not be the only one! Had a 20 odd min wait to be served for my fast food joint today!

Yes, you're right. I have done absolutely tonnes of these assignments and that's all they're after; to see how friendly the staff are, how they greet you etc, it's got nothing to do with the actual transaction you make.

As Scaredy says, with the GFK bank jobs, the aim is to get to a MOS at the counter, interact with them, and assess the service. No receipt needed at all.
