PS Thanks for the feedback re Charity donations
I think most of us feel the same then - we certainly don't begrudge it if it's what we can afford and it's something we feel is worthwhile. I think it must be especially difficult for those of you with School children - they always seem to be doing something sponsored! I did Race for Life last year (allthough ahem ...cough...cough....I actually walked it. Fast.) and felt so embarressed to mention it to people that I did a pathetic job of raising sponsorship!
So I don't mind being asked for something I feel strongly about and at the moment I don't give anything out of my salary direct. I even get phonecalls asking - which I find incredibly RUDE - so don't mind saying no then but I use 'Someone close to me has MS so any money I give to charity goes to that cause'. Which for a few years was true as that was all I could afford at the time. With regard to sponsoring people for the up and coming R 4 L's I guess I'll just say 'I'm sponsoring a few people so I'm sorry the donation isn't as big as I'd like'. Need to harden myself up to it and I guess not worry about it0 -

Think you're right there, curlygirl.... we all need to be able to say "no" without feeling guilty for doing so, and there's the problem....
Well done for doing the race for life - even for walking it you deserve a pat on the back:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Yesterday was another day when the Whoopsies got the better of me (my freezers are really groaning now!), and I added 12 breaded cod fillets to my food stocks (special offer - 4 pieces for £2 : Whoopsied to 99p/pack). That was as I left work just after 4pm, but I was a good girl and didn't take all 6 packs that were on the shelf - mainly 'cos I knew the freezers wouldn't cope - and didn't go back to see what the final reductions were just 'cos I'd already lost my NSD (which I'm prone to doing)
Hoping to keep today an NSD, as tomorrow won't be. Have a hospital appt (minor procedure under a local), which means I have to buy a bus ticket. DS will be sent out for milk (I'm out too early to get it, and am not going out for it afterwards, nor giving him any money for it on Saturday), so Saturday will be an NSD as I don't see me wanting to go anywhere with my eye patch on. Sunday is 'wobbly', as I will probably want to go out for a walk to see how my vision's coping - due to the fact the hospital have said to refrain from driving for 24 hours and I'm wanting to use the car on Monday morning (so I can visit my OH for the first time in 3 weeks!) Can't see Monday being an NSD though, as it's very rare for me to be off work when he's nothing planned during the day - so I'm guessing we'll possibly make the most of it and go out somewhere
Looks like I'm going to be struggling to get my 11 NSDs in this month - but I'm not giving in yet, even though my target for Jan thru April is 44 and I've already got 51.Cheryl0 -
Hi everyone
I'm back! I bowed out in March for our house move, which went great, loving our new home! Anyway we went back online yesterday - woohoo!!
Solventsoon, can I join in and pledge 5 for the last two weeks of April please? I've had a brief look and have seen you're running the challenge this month thank you, how's it going? I'm going to have a read through and find out what you've all been up to.
