Dorastar, when i did my SOA it let me put my details into a snowball plan, which calculated how much i should have left each month in my budget & then allocates it to the most expensive debt as an overpayment. This shows you how quickly you can pay off your debts by making overpayments.

I find it really motivating as it has really shown me quite how stuffed i am by the high interest rates on my credit cards!!

(sorry not the best explanation, hope it makes some sense????? )

Don't know what an SOA is? Think from your explanation I don't need a snowball now cos all debts are lounging on one card now which is slowly and steadily being overpaid back iyswim. But would be interesting to see how quickly I could pay it off by overpaying
    Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
    Emergency fund £1000/£1000
    Savings for big things £9017

SOA - statement of affairs (just a budget really), there is a link in one of the stickys on the DFW forum. I used it rather than making my own budget to ensure i didn't miss anything out.

You're right with only 1 debt, a snowball probably wouldn't give you much more than a potential debt free date, i found it useful cos my debt is spread out all over the place & my overpayments were a bit random to say the least!!

Hope i finally make sense now?!?

An NSD at last! That makes 6 now :j:j - only 9 left to go!

Tomorrow should also be spend-free, then hoping for a NSD weekend...that will do my totals a lot of good! :D

Cross with myself yesterday, assumed that I would have to pay at the dentist for DS2 (free to under 18s, not 16s as I thought :j), so I organised doing some other shopping while in town..so could have made it an NSD if I had been more with it! Hey-Ho, lesson learned...at least it was a LSD...only a few bits and bobs were bought. Now no spending until Friday...and even then only a few F&V, eggs and some milk perhaps...really keeping on target this month...says quietly as don't want to jinx it! ;)

Working tomorrow and Friday, so will pop on later in the week.

    It's been NSD #5 today!!!!!!

Worked from home today as had to wait in for gas man ... which means I get loads of work done AND avoid the temptation to part with cash ... even if I do miss out on having a natter with my colleagues!!

Well certainly not an NSD for me today - no sirree :( Had eyes tested and 'obviously' there's a change to my prescription  £279.20's worth in fact
Did get a free eye test though through using a n*ctar coupon saving £27.50 oooooh and 20% off (so they would have been £349.00  ) and err got an extra 2500 n*ctar points which works out at £12.50 saving soooooooo not complaining too much really - well maybe a little bit :o

    -s-

Hi Saorsie, where do you get your glasses from? Like the sound of that Necter point milarky. I usually go to Specsavers and because I wear my face furniture from dawn 'til dusk I justify getting the frames that I want (within reason - Boots is out of the question!) and also pay out for Thinner Lenses instead of jam jar bottoms. Last time I bought new I think it cost me about the same £275) for 2 pairs on a BOGOF. I had looked into some of the cheaper sites that MSE talks about (GlassesDirect) but I decided that as it was something really important to me I wanted a good range to pick from and to be able to try them on properly - and you just don't get that at the cheaper sites.

Fortunately when I went a couple of weeks ago my prescription hadn't changed for the first time EVER!! So I don't NEED new glasses - however due to wearing them so much I do get quite bored of them so was considering getting another pair as a treat in a few months if I'm a good girl. Had a look in Asda Optician last weekend and their range of frames have improved loads and start at £70 including standard lenses.

    Blah blah blah whatever

NSD report - BINGO! Another one for me today :D And tomorrow is looking good too

Keiss - how is work going? Spoons - how was today? Slowlyfading - how are those bites doing. Damn you must be a tasty bird!

Half way through the month now and how are we all doing in readiness for our BIG NIGHT OUT IN GLASGEE? Picked your outfits? I'm thinking of a multicoloured mini RaRa skirt and flourescent legwarmers......
