A bit of grocery shopping to do today, need a few bits in the chemist too and 2 birthday presents to buy so will have to spend but with my new frugal outlook I should be able to keep it low :A
Have a good weekend everyone
I know Im early - cant sleep ATM as Im on steroids for Crohns disease. They certainly help the symptoms but make me a bit hyper!! Can get to sleep ok but wake up at 3am on the dot every day hence the early morning surfing!;)
Have been to L1d1 for some f & v - miles cheaper than A$d4. But didnt spend much and also treated myself to some nice coffee and a cafetiere ( reduced in Asda) as Im confined to barracks today as OH still ill.Just had out of hours doc in and he's got a really bad ear infection( OH that is, not the doc!) He's given him tabs so hopefully that will get him on the mend. The doc says it'll be 5-7 days before he's better and that he'll be off work. I hope not as he doesnt get paid if he's off ( its a bit of a worry, but health comes first, she says gritting teeth)

Curlygirl - But we could use BigMumma's mirror for looking under those kilts....--far less obvious
And I really cannot fathom what all the fuss is, over my wanting to see my tuppence; cute, neat, blond with a slight auburn tinge--rather attractive in a not-too-bright light...for a polliss conn-stib-yule in his early 20s..I'm not complaining
[QUOTE=jintyb;31723685....Have_really_enjoyed_the_posts,_there's_loads_of_them!_And_I_agree_-__they_realy_do_keep_the_old_spirits_up!_*Just shows that even although we've all got our own personal reasons for doing the various challenges we have all got each others interests at heart too! It feels like a real community on here!:A My own take is; we're all here trying to save a few pennies & that is serious business, but it doesn't mean you can't have a giggle now & then. I am grateful for the escape from all the doom & gloom that comes with scrimping & once I've had my dose of this thread, I'm fighting fit to take on the rubber chicken & s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y mince recipes with a renewed vigour
Will be small spend today, need salad stuff and milk but that's all really. Im thinking of a cheap cafetiere as I fancy some "real" coffee, ....[/QUOTE]
I haven't been able to drink coffee since a particularly nasty chest infection a couple of years ago, so forgive me if this doesn't make any sense. Could you make a 'proper' coffee using one of those little stainless steel tea infusers? Something like THIS was along the lines of my bedraggled thinking..
I guess my spending was 'controlled' yesterday as I managed to find some reportedly good grow-bags on an offer of £3:95 ea or 3-4-£10 in the diy store that promises "you can do it". (I may have to go back to that branch again & ask the young man who loaded my boot if he'd like to come on our nite out--now he'd look good in a kilt..or a bin liner come to that :rotfl:)
I didn't get fish fingers in the end or the mushy peas, but still managed to part with £30+ on groceries  so I'd better "get into that kitchen & rattle those pots n pans" so I don't succumb to lethargy & fork out for a take-away
Oooh--I've just thought of something we could use as a War Cry while on our 'doos'. It was this * bit that suddenly clicked a switch; "They can make us mse, but they'll never take our hhooooo--maaa" while brandishing MOCs above our heads. Better put Shuz the kemmist on red alert as I fancy there'll be a run on blue eye-shadow that w/e we're away....

I see real life has interfered with my posting again--just WHY does the world & her dog choose MY net time to phone, bang the door, want to know where the bread is, fight with other family & demand me to referee :wall:
Thanks for the lessons PDD, altho I'd like to think I'm more Miss Jean Brodie than Stanley Baxter's drag even if it LOOKS t'other way round :rotfl:
Me muvva had a nasty attack of labyrinthitis Jinty; until then I hadn't realised just how much we rely on our ears for all manner of things. No1 Offspring used to suffer badly with infections too as a childso I can kind of sympathsise. Hope the bargain coffee-workings will bring you some comfort in your nursing duties, as you will certainly deserve it!
