Yer'on Chris! Meet you outside the Queens Arms at 12? I was going to say inside but a) you're driving & b) that sounded a bit...weird. Paul O'Grady is far too skinny & Biggins always looks like he's got a nasty smell under his nose

NSD number 13 for me Spoon - the loo rolls have held out (have enough for tonight and the morning - phewwww;)) Shopping day tomorrow - sorry Spoon, I know you hate it, but I actually LIKE food shopping - these days I stick to a very tight budget but am always on the lookout for offers, reductions and whoopsies (DH is even getting very good at spotting yellow stickers!!) - mnd you, other than our two trips to the car boot each week and the monthly trip to the Doc's, it's my big day out each week !!!:( Sad, I know!!! :D:D:D:D
Wish our loo rolls came as long as yours 3D--my fear is to run out, probably because the 'just-before-they-became-in-laws' always ran out on a week-end & it was before Sunday trading :embarasse Another reason why I learned very quickly, to carry as much kitchen roll in my pockets as poss, without looking like the Elephant Man in the process!
I know what you mean about the shopping too :o but I can now declare that yesterday, I attended my first EVER car boot sale :T We were a bit late--were passing & thought we'd go for a wander as the weather was good but most of the sellers were packing up. I didn't get anything, but me muvva found a plate with a gypsy caravan scene that will--hopefully--sit on her fire surround :) If it doesn't, or the colours clash, or she "shouldn't have bought it" it'll be MY fault of course :undecided
    ...
NSD 16 today but only because the handle fell off my front door (true story:eek:). Doesn't matter! Still counts however they materialise!! ....! I can't lock the door and I can't open it either. We had a delivery....and I had to leave a note on the door saying that I would be coming out from the back gate and not the front door, felt a right wally....
To be serious for a minute, when things like this happen it does show how much we take for granted. We may think our lives are fraught now but in reality, things can always become more difficult when we least expect--or want--them to :o It could have been so different; the door could have been forced by an intruder, or happened when you were all outside & had to pay a lock-smith call-out & emergency repair to get you in. At least it is giving you an opportunity to review your security--being thankful for small mercies is always high on my agenda :p

    Hi everyone,

    It's Friday!!! :j
Stuck to my small spend day yesterday, though I lashed out £2.99 on a bunch of flowers. I love to have flowers, they really cheer me up! :)We need buttonholes for tomorrow  How many males & females do we have to get...oi! You! stand still please! I'm trying to do a head-count
....no wages from OH being off sick last week so its a bum-clencher moneywise,:rotfl:like that expression! Can I borrow it? but we'll do it!! YES--YOU WILL! :T
Tomorrow is takeaway night, could you get a supermarket bag-thingie? Still gotta cook & wash-up I know, but a bit cheaper for this week? so no NSD there but Im hopeful for Sunday ;)That's the spirit!
Today is housework and knitting. On to my fifth kids hat now so Im getting more confident. I've discovered that they are going to an orphanage in Romania for the kiddies for winter, so its all good:j Bless ya heart :kisses:

Have a lovely day everyone, and for all you English folks - Happy St.George's Day!
Indeed--Happy St Georges  I'm not keen on the slaying dragons bit having a wuvvwee wikkull iggie of our own, but Enjoy! Tis a pity we're not allowed to display our patriotism, whether by country or nation, as others around the world take great pride in doing

Big Mumma - thanks so much for your reply to my post - I was having a wee "sorry for myself moment" this afternoon and when I read it it fair cheered me up to find someone was thinking about me:A Course you can borrow the "bum-clencher" expression - fairly accurate sometimes!:rotfl:

Fortunately work spared me the agony of 2 hours down-time of the forum, but only by phoning at 7:30am to ask if I could go in early (someone was off sick). Had to drop GDs at school, but got another Mum (a friend of DD) to see them in which meant I was clocked in at 9:05am instead of 1pm.

So an extra 4 hours pay for me, all of which helps keep my average at the 30hrs/week (for Tax Credit purposes), and I'm absolutley shattered so there's no risk of my going back out Whoopsie hunting later (which is a bonus as there was absolutely nothing already reduced that even vaguely tempted me as I left).

As such, I'm declaring today as NSD #9 :T
