what annoys me is that I only work night shifts so the carpark is always empty when I am thereI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. As I looked for the coins to pay the £2.00 hospital car parking fee yesterday, an exiting motorist offered my her ticket. I gratefully accepted and displayed it in my windscreen.
Later when I was exiting the car park, I spotted a lady walking towards to the ticket machine. I offered her my ticket (still plenty of time left on it) and she gratefully accepted it.

Every health body... NHS Trust, PCT, strategic Authority etc. has a designated Local Counter Fraud Specialist and all NHS fraud is handled by them (or a Regional Fraud Team if the value is over £15,000) and not the Police or Security.
Fraud against the NHS in any form is not acceptable and a zero tolerance approach is applied to deter and prevent it, thus saving the taxpayer money (£478 million since 1998 ).
As an NHS LCFS i've never pursued a case of parking ticket sharing, but if anyone wants to report this as a potential fraud then ring your Health Body and ask to be put through to the Local Counter Fraud Specialist (or Director of Finance) or ring the National Fraud and Corruption Reporting Line on 08702 400 100.

On my last visit tp hospital I wouldnt have minded paying if I could have found a parking place. I was taking my 6 week old daughter for a heart scan at the Freeman in Newcastle, there were NO spaces at all plus all the streets were permit parking. In the end I remembered my husband had a work colleague who lived near by so I phoned hubby who spoke to his colleague who phoned his neighbour who loaned us a street parking permit and we (me, the baby, our 2 year old and our elder son who is hyperactive) walked from there. How ridiculous is that ????? all whilst I was worried sick about my daughters suspected heart murmur. Luckily she is fine but I will not look forward to any future trips to the Freeman !!!!0

I've always passed on parking tickets if possible - recently to a Police Officer - and didn't think to check the transferability.
I'm finding it difficult to get by on just Incapacity Benefit (without asking fiance for charity), as I still have to pay for prescriptions (on average 1 a week) and attend hospital appointments each week.
I'm lucky in that my appointments are generally well within expected time limits, but I have tried other options, such as getting said fiance to drop off and collect, and using bus service.
But I decided that if I had to pay for parking in order to get well and earn and income, then so be it. God grant me the strength and the wisdom.......
Emergencies are different, but I was taken in an ambulance. BTW, all credit to NHS Direct who, after being informed by my fiance of the amount of blood loss I was experiencing, actually facilitated the ambulance callout. Thanks NHS Direct.
I would like to commend Hospital Administrator for his/her extremely calm demeanour and fair information.
