ARGH!! Have just dropped the nail varnish brush thing onto my brand new top  can't believe it!!Just got to wait in for Jack's new trampoline to arrive. His old one decided to go flying into next doors garden in all those high winds we had, so I claimed on the insurance for a new one and played a blinder! Old trampoline cost £150 from Argos, still the same price, insurance took £25 excess and sent me a cheque for £125, I shopped around and found exactly the same trampoline in Tesco for £99, went onto Tesco online where the same trampoline was £85, found a voucher for £10 off a spend of over £80 with Tesco online so got the trampoline for £75 with £5 delivery fee and then got £5 Quidco cashback so Jack gets his trampoline and I make a profit of £50 :j!! Love it when a plan comes together
!
:j:j Well done, bargain on the trampoline and some extra for you too

Am sending DH into the garden to construct it once he's finished cleaning the kitchen :rotfl: should be ready this time next year judging by his DIY skillsPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -

I'm a bit miserable today guys
didn't sleep very well and am still really cross with myself for getting bright red nail varnish on my new top (which unfortunately isn't bright red
). Really stressing about money too - for some reason all the direct debits that are due out on Tuesday pre-authorised on Friday, my wages don't go in until Tuesday so my bank account is showing nearly £300 down ! Also checked through my bank statment and wishing I hadn't, I've wasted so much cash this month on silly impulsive things (like the chuffing nail varnish with that daft magazine for £3.60 ) I'm seriously mad with myself
....
DH has done a lovely job cleaning the kitchen and Jack bless him has cleaned the bathroom but I'm struggling to find the motivation to even get dressedgoing to work at the chippy at 4pm so I'm really wasting the day and feeling guilty about that....feeling really guilty about a lot of things....getting depressed about the wrinkles on my face so splashed out some anti-wrinkle cream and thats another £8 that could have gone towards the debt......ARGH!!!
Lots of internal head bashing going onPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Aww, big hugs True :grouphug: - you're doing fab and as someone told me on my thread today, taking baby steps is a great way.
I know what you mean about the impulse buys - i'm the same and wasted over £5 this week on magazines  I don't even enjoy them that much, it's just something to do
How about keeping a spending diary? I try and do this (when I remember) and when i'm being good and using it, it really stops my impulse spending as it makes me think 'do I really need this' and especially more so when I have to write it in the notebook as I then realise and remember what else i've spent  I'm going to try and keep mine daily when I get paid on the 15th.
Don't be too hard on yourself, we all have these moment - we're only human. Just start again today and be goodxx

Hi True,
I didn't realise you had a diary so I have subscribed. You have given me some good advice on the DMP threads and as we are just starting out on ours I need all the help I can get.
Sorry your a bit fed up today, isn't it funny how something really small can put you in a rubbish mood. I have got all organised with my new account and just checked it. My wages go in on 26th of the month but as I have DD's coming out that day it shows me overdrawn (they must come out earlier in the day:mad:) They better not have charged me:mad::mad:
Anyway know what you mean about mags. Bought Woman and Home today which I love but its £3.50 and I really can't afford it:o oh hum, still some way to go to try and stick to the budget, but I soo love magazines!Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hi true. I've just got back from a long weekend of caravanning jt was lovely and nice not to be around things that get me stressed and make me think about debt. I had a big heart to heart with my broter re debts and he said paying debts is like a round of cricket it takes along time to build up the totals but perserver. Not great at spellings, I feel angry and down all the time about debts and restrictions and it not moving as quick as i'd like it I wish I could get all my cards on 0% I wish alot of things but we battle on and just hope forbthe best or a miricle such as all major credit card companys giving everyone 0% for some months haha xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Morning guys, and hi Julie - nice to see you here!
Glad you had a lovely time away Happy, sounds like it was just what you needed! If paying debts are like cricket its no wonder I get so cross with it - I hate cricket :rotfl:
Went over to Mum's house for tea yesterday which was lovely. She doesn't know about the extent of the debts but she knows I'm trying to clear stuff so we had a bit of a natter about things and I mentioned the magazine thing and she says she'll buy me a subscription for my birthday - just got to choose which magazine I want! It did get me thinking that there are ways around the splurge which made me feel a bit better.
I always used to keep a spending diary, the reason I stopped was because I felt like I'd "learnt" how to ask the need/want question - which I do, I am actually really good at that - but what I am also very good at is justifying these impluse purchasesthats the bit I need to stamp out. Think I'm going to try leaving my cards at home for a few weeks, see if that works. I'm still cross about the whole magazine thing, I mean it really was a complete waste doubly so because I always have a flipping book in my handbag!! oh well, new month now, fresh start
Does anyone know whether its acceptable for banks to allow direct debits to pre-authorise? It seems like me and Julie have both been hit with this (sods doing it on a bank holiday weekend ) we'll have to keep an eye on it and make sure we're not charged. I predict some snotty letters if they do!! Which bank did you go with Julie?
Aaaanyway, must crack on. I have an unusual Tuesday off so I'm going to spend some serious time sorting my house out. You have my permission to kick my butt off the forums if I'm seen lingeringPaddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840 -
Morning true, I've updated my signiture finally under 60k yipeeeee but now I'm in a debate, I get down about the home and the diy work I mentioned is stuff that will tidy it up and make me feel better but also prepare it for the time when we are in a osition to sell. The other thing is, I feel fed up when I loom around and I don't think I could hack the way it is for much longer, but at the same time I'm thinking debts etc and I can't seem to find th happy medium because I want it sorted yesterday I'm not a patient person I could argue all day in my head :-/I AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES.
