    Afternoon all

    Cold and heavy showers here.

Feel really sorry for the poor girl who lost her life in the scottish school bus crash. How many people are going to wish that trip was cancelled due to the weather.

    - courier has not arrived yet but it left Hemel Hempstead at 7:36 according to their website

LRD done and actually very helpful this time. Boys dropped at S'nage for bowling 6 games for £6 each so not bad. Mum is collecting them and taking them back to hers so I can get on and make the cake in a minute.

The pc area is done, I'll do the bathroom tomorrow. I've done all the bedrooms today. I'll claim for stars (please) when I get to the right day/s.

Lemanie - loving the carbon offsetting, you could be on to something there.

Pooh - so sorry to hear you are snowed in again

Soappie - have BG arrived yet? I gave in and put the heat on for an hour this morning. It has been off for a couple of weeks. Off to collect a car load of logs from a freecycle lady later.

Just bought a new ironing board cover (last one didn't fit) so hoping this one does. I love a new cover - how sad.

I'm afraid the news from Sandy isn't good. I'm not sure what it is, as she hasn't been clear, but I suspect that she's not ready to put it in writing yet.

I was wondering whether one of the flyladies who is in a similar position (you know who you are) might be willing to talk to her about coping strategies and the support available. She's clearly having a hard time holding things together, and I can't begin to imagine how she feels, although I know some of you know only too well.

As for the rest of you, anyone who is avoiding the GP because symptoms are too embarrassing, or who doesn't want to cause a fuss, or doesn't like tests - please take this as a warning and deal with whatever the problem is. And those who just generally don't look after their health through bad eating/exercise habits, try to motivate yourselves to prioritise it, as you never know what's around the corner.

    Hi all.

Late-ish lunch break and a catch-up with Fred....

Oh dear, that's worrying news about Sandy; healing and coping vibes being sent her way.

Keep warm and safe vibes for the people affected by the atrocious weather conditions.

Lie down in your kennel and be quiet vibes for all BDs; they seem to be making a lot of noise just lately.:(

Actually.. we need approximately 2-3 children PER ADULT in order to provide the necessary level of tax income for pensions when we are old due to the aging population.. and you can tell your mum I said so.

Well you're just about managing to break even for you, KH and OH and shucks - I was going to ask if we could count some of yours to make up our shortfall, you know like carbon off-setting?
LOL I was going to ask Pigpen the same thing!!

Actually, joking aside - it's something that's worried me for years; I tried so hard during my twenties to think myself into wanting kids, but I never managed to. I simply don't have a maternal bone in me, and have to accept that I simply don't do kids. I'll look after any animal you care to put my way, but if someone asked me to babysit, I'd run a mile. What the heck is wrong with me??:(

And having driven myself into a pit of depression, I shall now go and get on with cleaning the bathroom......*rolleyes*

    Lunch had (and Deal decluttered)
    bag found (in W's wardrobe)
    ironing up to date
socks paired as far as possible
WM and TD contents swapped over
WM on with baby clothes (can't believe ours were ever that small!)

Going to ring a friend and then do a bit more

Thanks for the update on sandy

LW just because you are female does not mean you should feel maternal so please don't think there is anything wrong with you for not wanting kids.

    Hello!!! It's the holidays!! :T :j :T :j :D

I am having a lazy day today and had a lie-in until nearly 10:00!

I have put the rubbish and recycling out so all bins are emptied and clean, and I have washed up and ........ errrrr ...........

Currently waiting for Mr T order to arrive as I have run out of almost everything! ETA - it arrived and is all put away!

Hope all of you up North are keeping safe in the weather conditions. It's exceedingly windy here but the rain has eased off and the sun is trying (not very hard!) to peek out.

Just heard that the farm shop and garden centre very close to the school I work in has been destroyed by fire :(

wilf - hope DS keeps up the good work

    Natty - thanks!

greenbee - thanks for the updates

Sandy - continued prayers and thoughts for you xx

soappie - hope it gets sorted soon although I don't have the heating on and it's warm enough here

lamewolf - there's nothing 'wrong' with you; so there :p
