We live on pensions which pay out at different times - state pensions & benefits (DH's every 4 wks, mine every 13wks) and our small occ. pensions, (mine on 12th of each calendar month, his 4 wkly but not same day as the state one!)

So, I just run our finances through the calendar month from 1st to last day - makes sense with DDs and SOs going out of the bank on set dates. It's more simple than that sounds as long as I keep my little notebook of expenditure up to date. I do it all BTW, as my DH has dementia and I have Enduring Power of Attorney.

Am about to update my sig, as organic veg box has just been delivered, and £11.65 comes out of bank as DD today.

Starting with a budget of £300.00 last month was £314.00.

Finish on or around 21st April when I have done that weeks shopping.

    Total £189.35

    Co-op £15.85
    Co-op £3.18
    Tesco £6.61
    Co-op £20.69
    Sainsburys £35.38

    £271.06

Not going to make it, I know I've got a few more receipts to add and this weeks shopping.

Does everyone else include wine? becuase otherwise, close to £100.00 aweek for two adults is far too much.

We only chuck away plate scrapings and I do mean scrapings as well.

I'll try for £300 next month but this will just be food/cleaning/smellies.

Just had a Mr A delivery so another £104.16 spent. I've now got lots of full cupboards so hopefully only milk, fruit and veg to top up on and only a week to go.

Hopefully I can keep within budget!:)

Ok... new month....new spend £45 ish spent in Asda today. Will order the cat food and the meat this week and that will be me for the next four weeks- apart from a few pieces of fruit.

Oh heads up- Asda are doing the following at 27p a pack:
    4 apples
    4 kiwis
    4 pears
    4 oranges
    a large mango

Got a few bits but people were fighting in mine and it was getting silly so only got apples and mangoes

Also picked up some rhubarb from a local green grocer as mine is still early days so will make a crumble tonight with it :)

I went to Mr Ts yesterday to pick up some snacks for a friends party later in the week, so have now spent a grand total of £121.70. I thought I was doing a bit better than that, but oh well. I've only brought lunch at work twice so far this month so feeling pleased with myself on that score.

not managing many nsd as I go to diff shops t get diff stuff so tends to be whenever I am in the area. Today was the asian supermarket for chicken - got just over a kilo of diced thighs and a kilo of bone in thighs for £6 but most of that will go in the freezer and roll forward to next month - about 6 meals worth in total.

Had forgotten how much cheaper it is for some stuff - £2 a kilo for yummy vine toms so will get those to make chilli jam next time, cues 3 for a quid, bone in chicken £2.50 a kilo. If anyone has an indian area near by I def recommend checking it out for more than just spices.

Hoping to come in under budget as any surplus is going towards new carpet for dd's bedroom
