Hi jacktyler, indeed it is.0

janiebaby29, please read this carefully! I ONLY ASKED FOR THE PRICE, AND THEY SENT THE RECORDER! Be it a mistake, a freebie, or a ploy to force me to buy it, I don't know why they sent it but they did. Then this whole fiasco started. I don't know how clearer to spell it out to you! I'm sure Miss Marple could have found the website, would you like the URL, and am I allowed to post it?
Im out of here , due to your rudeness which might help you get your money back ,
Oh BTW if you look on my first reply to you , I think you will find I was'nt the only person who thought that your first post was a possible spammer , At least 3 people thanked me .
Good luck in retriving your moneyThe original janiebaby0 -
Farewell janiebaby29, and thank you for your supportive, helpful and constructive input.0

couldn't you try olliesdad's suggestion? With a Visa Debit card your bank can do a chargeback rather than invoking section 75.

Huffy - it might not be such a good idea having your home address in your email signature, you're leaving yourself open to spammers, fraudsters etc.
I would go and see CAB if I were you, see what that say. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Thanks jacktyler and OlliesDad, I shall be trying all of your suggestions tomorrow. If anyone is interested I shall feedback with what happens.
Do you think a small claim is a bit overkill at this stage then?0 -
Huffy, the best bit of advice I can offer is to hand the situation over to someone else to deal with - your lack of people skills are not helping at all. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

i'd take hayley11's advice and speak to cab, see what they say. you could also try speaking to consumer direct?

Thanks hayley11, I don't usually just hand out my address freely, but I thought this company were quite trustworthy. I had bought one of these recorders about 18 months ago from a third party who have subsequently gone bust. That particular recorder was faulty, and the retailer referred me to the manufacturer (Intelligent Recording), who repaced the recorder for me. So even though I have never been a customer of theirs, they had my address 18 months ago anyway, so I didn't feel there was any particular risk.
We wanted a second recorder for a second line that we have at home. I couldn't go back to the same retailer as before as they had gone bust so this was all just a bit of research to find the cheapest retailer. As I had their details I thought it worth asking the actual manufacturer how much they charged for the unit.0 -
Thank you NorbertsMum, your comments are most helpful in my predicament. I should just point out that I did not present any defensive responses until you and your little gang attacked me visciously with no reason whatsoever. Of course, naturally I am going to defend myself, but if you intend on bullying newbies as if this was a playground then perhaps stick to keeping your comments to the playground to. This is supposed to be a constructive site, I should not have to tolerate your snipes.0
