Does anyone know the best place to rehome my lovely rabbit?
Just been to the doctors with my little girl as she has been quite ill over the past year with pneumonia plus she has other health complications. Her allergy tests came back today and it seems the rabbit and her dont get on:(
So unfortunately i'm now looking to rehome her (the rabbit, not my daughter!)

Any help would be much appreciated, would like her to go somewhere nice as she is a lovely little bunny:A

Aw poor bunny. At least you tried to help - I have seen many bad reports on the RSPCA myself. I really hope they don't bother to get another one.

If you dont mind me asking what type of rabbit is it. We lost our female rabbit (due to illness) last year and out male (neutered) rabbit has been a bit lonely without her although he is currently living in the house an annoying the dog. We would consider taking another rabbit but depends on breed size and if they got on. We are also in Edinburgh.

    Nope he is definitely mine:p

She is a lionhead cross, but doesnt have the 'lionhead' if that makes sense! She is approx 2 years old and an albino. She is not neutered but if your male is then they should be fine. As for size, not sure, she definitely isnt a big rabbit. More than happy for you to come and see her if you want to.
She is very friendly, loves being stroked and cuddled. Have never tried to introduce another rabbit to her though.

Thanks for getting back to me, was hoping she may have been a dutch bunny as that is what we already have. I tend to stick to pets with short hair/fur as I am allergic to animal fur (although we have a dog, rabbit and up until this morning a hamster all short haired though). My dd's friend has a lionhead but he is quite long haired so not sure if it would be a good idea. Will pop over and see how I am with his fur. At the moment I would probably not be able to take her though. Have you tried the Pet Store at Straiton they rehome rabbits, Gumtree can be good as well for rehoming.

She is quite fluffy and does shed quite a lot unfortunately. The hair isnt hugely long though.

  • Last night I found a lump on my sons rabbit, it is about half the size of a golf ball under his chin (can't believe I've not noticed it before). I'm thinking its an abscess.
(the rabbit is almost 2 years and male)

But could any of you give me an idea of vet costs for rabbits, it would really help.
