I do agree with the idea of small businesses needed to be supported. Especially the ones that could do so well with latest technology advances. There are quite few small companies that try to commercialise the advances. Modern Water came to mind. I suppose that Research and Development is especially tied to first suggestion I made concerning this.
Another solution is trying to promote self-sufficiency of the country, especially energy. Why should we have to depend on oil and gas imports after all (oil price affect everything, a glance at Tesco petrol station price board tell me that every-time I walks to work.) We are living on an island, surrounding by sea... with unknown future ahead of us.0 -
For years I`ve been self employed and I think small businesses should be helped. Raise the VAT threshold to £100,000. 50% off buisness rates for the first five years. Something that would help fill up alot of empty shop premises.
I would like to have a really good look around an NHS hospital. I was a nurse 25 years ago. The administration now is horrendous. There used to be a ward, charge nurse, consultant and secretary and a few patients it was nearly as simple as that. I`ve friends who do such fantastically well paid, totally meaningless jobs, I`d love to axe them all. Nobody would miss them.
I`d also like to be in charge of publically funded building work - how come its so expensive?
Oh and every day would be the first day of spring.
I remember a great system employed by Labour in the 70`s. It was called stock relief. So say you made £20k but only took out £10k, the rest used to buy stock, then tax was paid on the £10k. Seemed fair.
In the first year owning my shop I made £50k. Took wages of £13k. Yet I had to pay tax on the full £50k as it was seen as profit.0 -

Yes, it started with this totally unjustified attack on me. You cannot go around insulting people without there being consequences for your actions.

Before this I had never heard of you but I am not taking this sort of sh i t, especially from someone incapable of making a point well, lying down.
Quite frankly keyboard warrior bullies like you are dime a dozen.
You are the one with the insults and the harassment.

There are plenty more as well. I have not swore at you once so why have you insulted me. There were others during the week that have been deleted as well. But if it makes you feel good about yourself then carry on big man.

Your cat can't even get its grammar right.
Is it drunk too?
Back on topic - totally agree with the help for small businesses and the comment re self-sufficiency. Or if not self-sufficient, then at least to develop proper storage facilities as they have in Europe, so that we can last longer than 5 minutes before we all run out of supplies and panic... :eek:0 -

Bring back specialist schools for those children who may not be able to cope in mainstream schools instead of trying the one size fits all education. It doesn't work for every different needs child, it causes far too much stress and pressure on the teaching staff and can mean that a child who did have potential but required the more specialist help, completely fails.
Bring in a system where childcare is more easily accessible to those who do have disabled children (especially mentally disabled), rather than the current system where child care providers can say they provide it but in reality, they don't. This would enable those that care to be able to return to work (albeit still in a limited capacity), thus cutting down the benefits bill whilst also giving those carers some sort of self worth. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
