Specialist use in baby units, banks, prisons, nuclear power stations, etc is not a problem.
But we are sleepwalking into a surveillance society, and it's simply not acceptable.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Glad to hear you agree with me on this point Hamishsomething I am passionate about :T
I do agree however that this 'Big Brother' culture is becoming oppressive in areas one would consider to be unacceptable (well unless someone can pre-warn you that you've exited the ladies with your under garments on public view)

And another thing......
(carol is soooooo going to regret starting this thread, but anyway)
Reform Labours draconian and authoritarian gun laws.
Not to the point of America or anything with guns being carried in open holsters in supermarkets, but a situation where our Olympics shooting team have to fly overseas to practice legally is absurd and an international embarrasment. And gun crime has increased since they came in, so clearly they are useless.
Reform the self defence laws.
Sorry, but if some scumbag junkie breaks into your house and threatens you with a knife, you really should be able to chase him down the street with a cricket bat and beat him senseless without worrying about prosecution. As recently happened to someone here after his family was attacked. In fact, you should be able to retrieve your legally owned firearm from it's place of concealment and shoot him on the spot. But thats a different argument.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Now you're getting silly again McTittish.

I'm just throwing open the floor to anyone with any fantastic ideas on how to improve our world, or just one little bit of it, whatever.
