Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean. That is why when we go away, even we have booked self catering, we will eat out.

Even if we have a week at home we cut the cooking to the minimum.

However, after a week and definitely after two, I am itching to get back to proper cooking and eating home cooked meals, even if we have had some good ones in the local hosteleries.

I feel like this many times. Luckily there is only my son and myself to cook for, but when he is not in for tea I often don't feel like cooking and wish there was some one else to do it!

Know what you mean, tootles. I only have to cook for myself, but I still get fed-up with it even though I basically enjoy cooking. Don't know if you do this already, but maybe you could prepare some meals ahead and then freeze them, so then all you have to do is reheat rather than cook from scratch? I find that helpful during the week when I get home late and tired after work and cooking is the last thing I feel like doing. Or once a week get a takeaway or meal out - just as a treat?

Happy Birthday for Thursday! I hope you're having a nice meal out to celebrate!

Hi why not form a dinner club with some friends in the same position once a week one of you invites the others round and cooks agree budgets before you start and decide if you are all going to split the cost of each meal or pay for the meal when its your turn to cook. keep to easy every day meals and make it a social event don't let it become a competitoin to out cater each other

Frequently! I sometimes have nights where I go on strike and DH has to cook. When the summer holidays are over I am going to concentrate on bulk cooking.

Thanks for the chuckle, ladies!) and I'm nervous about clicking where it says "Click here to review entire thread" in case I lose what I've already typed. I seem to remember there's another way to do it. Please could some kind person remind me? Thanks! Will try to pop in again later.

    Good evening everyone,

Hello to all the newbies, loads of new names today, so apologies that im not naming you all!!!!!

Tootles - i know exactly how you feel, and like some of the others, it only takes a ready made meal to make me realise that the planning and cooking is worth it!!!!!

Well, been busy today, loads of washing and cleaning done, so now im just having a quick surf while i finish my glass of wine!!!! So, hope all those feeling poorly feel better soon, and all those who have been busy get to have a good sit down and a rest!!!!
    Have a great evening
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
