Aril - yes you can really be addicted to MSE - there is no medical term for it yet but it has lots of sufferers.
Some of the symptoms are - bulk buying of soda crystals, stardrops, bicab and white vinegar. Weetabix brownies and/or cake in cake tin (but never for long) and Pukka Pads - well those are my main symptoms anyway :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
:T :T I finished the curtains and they are now hung, I had to move my sewing table a bit for them to draw back, they are longer than the old ones. I have taken a risk and put the old ones in the washer, the water is green:o
but then as I said they are 17 years old and have never been washed!!!! You do not wash chintz.........
Chicken casserole on, just off to put the veg on, marrow, spuds, green beans and carrots..... banana and cream to follow, oly enough crumble left for 1 so I will have that tomorrow when OH is bowling.

Hi everyone. I couldn't post this morning as the pc was playing up. Run a virus scan and spyware check but nothing. I think it must've been sulking that my DS was on it so late.
Feeling a bit dissapointed rught now as my uncle was taking us all out for a chinese to celebrate my DS1's GCSE results. I've really looked forward to it - and now I've got an upset stomach so can't go. On the plus side the boys are still going (DS1 kindly said he'd rather not if I couldn't go, bless) so at least I don't have to worry about cooking while I'm like this.
Took a trip to B&Q this morning to get various screws, pins and bolts to continue with the fence and came away emty handed 'cause the que was nearly 20 people long with only 1 till and customer service open!!! Remembered a hardware store nearby and called in there - so glad I did, it saved me a fortune and they were so helpfull and friendly! I must remember to go there whenever I need anything like that again. They even sell the traditional llechwens!! (bakestones for welshcakes - ok and other things, but welsh cakes mostly in my house)
Anyway, best get going to make sure boys are all scrubbed and tidy for their meal out.
Best wishes to all

Hi all,
PenPen, how infuriating for you, i hate it when people make things up to get others into trouble.
Made a weetabix cake for MIL & SIL's arrival but I must have done something wrong cos it's still soggy in the middle. Luckily DS was sampling it and found the soggy bit so I put it back in the oven for a bit longer. Will add less milk next time, tho I did follow the recipeAny suggestions welcome.

Must share this with you. My darling son and daughter felt the need to draw tattoos on themselves this afternoon - using my very neglected (as I don't tend to wear makeup these days) brown and black eyeliners. They had great fun drawing on each other - gave me time to catch up on all the threads
- and quite proudly displayed their art to me.
When it came to shower the tattoos off they asked if they could listen to music while they showered (separately of course). I have now found a way to cut the 30 minute shower per dd/ds to 9 minutes!!!! :j :j :j They were gladly told that "yes, you can listen to music but only three songs"! Brilliant, if I say so myself.
I just love saving money now. :T"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Sounds like a jolly day in the Booklover household, I daren't let my dd loose with make up:eek:
Have made fab bean, barley and veg soup for kids - they didn't like it:rolleyes: Well, they'll be hungry later.0 -
Pen pen - (hugs) hope the wander around the charity shops did the trick. Once the boys are back inschool I'm inteding taking a trip to a few in a 'good' are in the hope of finding some good ones.
Annie booklover - My eldest takes forever in the shower - I'm sure his showers are more expensive than a bath. Ironically a few years ago I struggled to get him into the shower - now he's in there at every opportunity!
Moggins - hope you had a great day today. Are we still on for tomorrow? Drop me a pm when you get chance.
Taplady - a lady after my own heart ... I put butter on almost everything

Kaz - ((hugs)) Hope your tummy settles soon. Pity about the meal though (can they bring you home a doggie bag so you can reheat it when your tum is better?
)
tootles - wooohooo! :T :T :T Well done on getting your curtains finished and hung, a really gratifying feeling!! :T
VickyA - Sounds like you've been having FUN!I did chuckle at your impatience at changing your name, I think that's so lovely
Pen Pen - aww, sorry to read you've had a bad day; hopefully drinkies with the chookie chaps will ease away the stresses. Oooh, congrats on your pasta makers :T :T :T
BR - Sorry to hear you're having a bad day too
beachbeth - as thriftlady says they are a brand of notepads. My ds bought me one the other week which is specifically a Daily To Do List one :rotfl:It's great!
taplady - :j Best of British to your DS :T :T :T
Aril - the best time to tell OH that you've bought a SC is ... when you serve him up a scrumptious dinner after being out all day:whistle: Good luck with getting one the size and price you like.
kyle -((hugs)) Have you thought about changing your Dr? If you have lost faith in him it might be worth investigating.
foreverskint - woohooo :j Well done!!! :T :T :T I know what you mean when one room is thoroughly cleared it makes the rest of the house look a tad .. er .. neglected (?). Like your strategy for getting the rest done though. :T :T
Lillibet - Oooh, lurve the sound of the savoury Everyday's! I shall give those a bash, sound great for the packed lunches :T :T Enjoy your evening
Gamer2006 - I remember reading about SwapitShop in a magazine a few months ago; forgot about it until your link. Just taken a look and it really seems to have grown in recent times! Impressed that it is supported by some well known companies. Thanks for the reminder.
snoozer wrote:Queenie, I wish I had your energy, I thought i was busy on Monday and I was exhausted yesterday but you put me to shame.
a) slow cooker (overnight)
b) the bread machine (takes only a few mins to fill it)
c) the washing machine (only took a moment to load and another 5-10mins to unload/peg out
d) the food processor (ice cream took 3 mins max. crumblies 2mins)
e) the microwave (crumblies take 8mins)
I making multitasking my challenge :rotfl:
All uniforms now ready for Tuesday ( :j ) bags all sorted with required stationery, sports bags all packed and labelled and all sundries put where the lads will remember them. Going to stitch the blazer cuffs this evening so that will be the last of the back to school tasks complete.
Didn't get to make any cakes in the BM after all. Go sidetracked by that lovely (and very sexy!) man in the red van who brought me ... a peg loom :j :j :j so I've been faffing around with that for an hour to familiarise myself with it. Had to invest some of my pin money, but hey, it will more than repay the investment
Most of the ironing done, only some odds and bobs left and they can wait until another time.
Haven't told the lads yet, but I'm treating them to lunch out tomorrow after the dentist. After watching SuperNanny last night I realise just how very blessed I am!!! :rotfl: So, it'll be my way of letting them know just great I think they are and I know they'll love it (although they might be a bitwondering if they've forgotten someone's birthday :rotfl: ).
 Must go see if I can find any online vouchers for it.

Lol, that made me chuckle. I saw Supernanny last night, I do hope that family manage to keep up the 'changes' now that she's left. I hope you all have a lovely meal tomorrow - they'll be wanting to go to the dentist more often. I remember my nan allways rewarded me with a bag of sweets after going to the dentist - not suprising I ended up with fillings in almost all my teeth eh? lol.
Boys have gone and secretly I'm hoping they'll do as you suggested Queenie and bring home a doggy bag. Chinese is well worth having a sore tum for, but I didn't want to spoil the evening for everyone by having one there!
Well, I'd best go and see if there's anything I can manage to eat without upsetting my tum further. Probably back on in a bit as it's kinda quiet without the boys....
