I did this last week, posted about my lovely new spade and how nice it was to use and even how they had the same one on Gardeners world. People now think I'm even more of a geek then normal. It is a really lovely spade though!0 -
OH lord! I do all of the above!
and more....
I pinched a syringe from work so I could 'precision' water my seedlings....:D
I get odd looks when I pinch rubbish from family and freinds houses because it would make a good planter/cloche/pot etc......
I've trained the dog to see off the birds/squirrels/mice etc.....he has an awesome little bark!
I've named my fruit trees after characters from the garden gang books....;)
A freind asked me for some spare seeds and I counted out five tomato seeds
If I come up against a problem/query/idea I immediatly decide 'The moneysavers will know!':D

....you ask your relatives to save their spent tea bags and then have to convince them you really, really, really want them for your compost heap....not because you are a miser who won't fork out for some unused tyhoo.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

You get caught telling the only clematis left in Tesco that has lost most of its compost, lost its label, is in desparate need of a drink and is only 50p that it is coming home with you and then turn round and say to OH that you have to have it because its lonely!
You get said clematis home and top up its compost and give it some water before putting the frozen food in the freezer.0 -

Your colleagues can name every plant you're growing, but haven't got a clue what your OH (of 2 years) is called
When your v supportive OH knows full well that you don't want any chocolate for Easter, you'd much prefer a plant watering system so you can enjoy the long weekend away
Wandering around the supermarket you nearly get thrown out for critising the veg (I could grow much better than that)
You decide that you can last one more month without any flipflops / sunglasses / tshirts etc cos you really do need some more compost, containers, strawberry plants, bamboo canes, new watering can... I really need to go to Homebase!:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner

You go and grab a torch as the light fades so you can finish off what you are doing.
You ask hubby if you can spend the entertainment budget for April on plants.
When you squeeze in 11 minutes of weeding while hubby is getting ready for the trip to the cinema that he insists you both must go on instead of buying plants
You fish out plant specimens from skips when landscapers are digging out beds.
You hang around corporate landscaping jobs hoping for left over plants.
When you're scrunching up newspaper balls as the base for your open fire and carefully tearing out and keeping the gardening sections to read again later"carpe that diem"0 -
You wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat having dreamt that your patch had been submerged following a heavy downfall.
Then, the very next evening, you have a dream about finding a load of worms in a plastic cup and your first reaction is to go and put them in the compost bin.0 -
When you get into the car & think gosh it's like a greenhouse in here, then spend the journey into town working out if you can feasibly have pots on the parcel shelf!!! OH says not
Sometimes not moving backwards is as much an achievement as moving forwards is on other times. (originally posted by kidcat)
It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!0 -
