Oh my heart goes out to that poor ceanothus,
I think it's heading to the 'bargain basement' setion in the garden centre and you get the same feeling as saving orphans or abandoned puppies as you select who you will take home for some TLC.
Mind you excellent place for bargains-especially DIY stores who tend to lack plant knowledge, bought 3 'dead' clematis a few weeks back for 99p each. All now showing their new spring growthLBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -
Oh and ....
The amount of 'lawn' in your garden gets smaller and smaller by the year until you just consider not having one at all and changing it all over to beds and borders.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -

Errr .. been there done that ...
.. lol ....
Needed more space for my roses
Yes garden centre bargain basements are very bad for your wallet .. just recently picked up 8 roses for £5 .. they look so sad .. so picked them up and they are now sitting in a greenhouse looking a lot happier ..

You realise you are becoming a MAGPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are hoarding everything,yoghurt pots, milk bottles,tin cans,toilet rolls,lollipop sticks,newspaper,polystyrene,tyres, old bins,recycling tubs,cot bars,glass etc.
To go to a tip (not that YOU would be throwing much out) whilst suffering from this serious Gardeners condition would be fatal!0 -
When you go in to work everyday to check on your seedlings, veggies, etc. even though you have two weeks off.0
-
When you have to patrol your garden all day to keep the hens off the newly planted primroses - the first lot having been dug up and destroyed ..

...when you've been up all night, and doze on the sofa instead of going to bed, just in case the postman tries to deliver your seeds/plants/seed potatoes etc.0
