I am hoping to list a couple of bits on ebay today, that have been hanging around. Once I start listing stuff, I find it hard to stop!!
If you look through brizzledfw's old posts you'll find the thread they replied on... HTH.0 -

Last night I actually looked at my Halifax account! Scary reading. In a nut shell last year I went from a 30k job to a 10k job. I love my new job, I'm looking upon it as a stepping stone for a new career and am gaining loads of training and experience.
However, finances have all gone a bit Pete Tong as you would imagine. However I have 3 sources of money waiting for me if I can get my !!!! in gear to actually sit down and sort them out.
So. Today. I WILL
1.Fill out petrol claims-From November:eek:
2. Find all documentation needed by Council Tax benefit people so that I can claim a reduction. Well found the letter dated 18th March saying I had 14 days otherwise application withdrawn
3. [STRIKE]
Fill in a form so that I am registered again as a teacher and therefore can claim for tutoring odd bits of supply.
[/STRIKE]Done
Reckon doing those 3 things will potentially bring in about £600 so really silly not to.
So there I've said it. So now I had better do it!
Must try harder!LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -

We all need to try harder at some point in our lives buts its only to achieve what we really want and if we really want it then we will get it!! When you have been hiding from that bank account, and hiding from the debts its so easy just to turn a blind eye but when you focus and you get used to seeing the bank account and you get used to the amount of debt then you take every step to become friends with the bank account and make payments to debts!
its hard to take a pay cut but look you have seen the positive side to it which means you can see the positive side to everything! just stick to this thread and let us all know when your feeling down or scared to check the account and well give you the encouragement you need!!!!0 -
Morning all!
It's a nice breezy but sunny day here - been out with the dog for a brisk walk already (he doesn't understand clocks changing, if its light its time to get up!)
Had a good day yesterday with OH - went out for brunch and he paid (2 for £10), went to the cinema and used my SU card to get a discount, on the way out a lady gave me 4 free Bold samples - strange place to give out washing powder but I'm not complaining!
Dropped him off at the pub to watch the end of the footballl but came home and walked the dog instead and then we both stayed in for the evening and watched a film.
Today I will..- Do 2 washes and dry naturally
- Hoover and dust the house
- Clean the car
- Cook Sunday dinner later
- Get stuff ready for little trip to Wales to see family tomorrow
- Do 1 job application later
- Moved some money from other account to current account for trip
- Do any surveys that come
- Have a LSD (can't really think of anything I need except a carwash - £2)
xx
Managed to do all of the above and more cleaning than planned - a proper good scrub of the house rather than an around the middle whizz round!
Have also sat down and sorted out the finances for April-June - I get my final grant/bursary payment in April to last until the end of June and I think I've managed to squirrel away at least an extra month's worth of money to tide me over the summer (assuming I get a teaching job starting in September). My budget is careful but not too strict - I may try the cash only approach in April to see if it works for me and when its gone its gone - Hmmmmm, sounds hard!
Have also done a meal plan for this week and have everything we need so no excuses for extra spending apart from milk.Off to Wales tomorrow with doggy (OH is working) so won't be around until Weds - have a good start to the week!0 -
I totally agree and thanks for the welcome. I knew the job change would be a struggle financially and had paid back about 3k before I took it on and made some good cutbacks. I suppose sometimes you need to remember that it takes an every day effort to keep on the straight and narrow and I really can't afford to spend £30 in the garden centre! Heyho. Back on the straight and narrow.LBM 10/08 £12510.74/0
