Just wanted to pop in an say thank you. I saw your post on another diary and it made me think that I will use my cash back for mortgage over payment. I normally use it for birthdays and Christmas but this makes more sense as I have lots of presents already.

Awww I love guinea pigs.
ThanksUnfortunately she's heard nothing back from McD so we're assuming she didn't get it. Still, something will turn up!
G-pigs are fab. We have 2 females - one was 7 back in March so is a very old lady (she's outlived 2 companions) and the baby is 8 months old. Getting her has revitalised the old oneGoldiegirl wrote: »Some great results in your update, especially the NNS.
Thank you
Well done on on starting the eBaying, it's really satisfying when the cupboard of doom gradually empties out.
I tend to ebay in fits and starts and haven't really touched it for a few months - just kept re-listing previous unsold stuff. However, the stuff is not going to shift itself, so I may as well get on and do it whilst I'm in the right frame of mind!
Hope your DH finds the Saudi trip interesting. Even if he decided he didn't want to work over there, at least he's had the experience of visiting.
My cousin worked over there for a while - I think his family went with him, but his children were quite young then. He was in the oil industry, and I get the impression it was quite lucrative. He's retired now and in Canada, where he also worked for several years.
I shall speak to him via Skype tonight to see what his impressions of day number 1 are - am hoping he's cheered up a bit from last night!
Hope DD finds a nice job for the summer
Me too!! :rotfl:littlegreenpeas wrote: »Just wanted to pop in an say thank you. I saw your post on another diary and it made me think that I will use my cash back for mortgage over payment. I normally use it for birthdays and Christmas but this makes more sense as I have lots of presents already.

Happy to be of help!
Another beautiful day here. Am attacking the kitchen today - and the cupboard of dooooom
20 things listed on ebay so far - with a bid on 1:p Will try and list some more tonight when smallies are in bed although I have a mountain of ironing that I'd really like to clear before DH is back!
We have strawberries galore here - have been picking them for almost a month (since May 27th - very early for us!) Crazy amounts - up to a kilo of them each day! The front garden bed is calming down now but the back garden bed is now starting to ripen! Have been having tehm for breakfast with yogurt, with meringues and cream or with jelly for desserts, by themselves as a snack, made into a compote with yogurt, loads are frozen and I still have 4 punnets full in the fridge! Jam making next week, I think!
Picked our first tomatoes on Sunday, too. And the courgettes are starting to be ready - yeay! (I've been buying them recently as ours have been late) Salad leaves finally getting there tooAnd potatoes are looking good - but am not touching them for a while yet
Beans have flowers on, so that's good too. Big Pear tree has another bumper crop. Small pear tree (only its second summer) has just over a dozen on which appear to have survived 'June drop' Bramley has none on at all
Nasty eating apple tree has a lot on. PLum tree has a few on. All in all not too bad!
Right - tempting as it is to sit here I really must get some housework done

We had one live to that age when I was little. I've been expecting this one to die the past 2 winters! SHe really perked up with the arrival of the new one, though.
Apparently they can live to 9 or more - but that's rareI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Weather here has been beautiful for maybe 10 days now - which is fab - but means all my veggies need watering!!! I'm going to task DS1 with this job this evening - he's spent most of the day playing minecraft.....
This sounds like my dd, although her hudl has broken at the moment so she can't play (dh has fixed it but don't tell her!) so she's doing jobs such as watering the garden and feeding the dog to earn money for the new part.
Well done on the NNS, £100 is a whopping amount to make :T
Yay for Mr GT coming home early, what a lovely surprise for the children, have a good weekend

Happy reunions.
Our strawberries are over producing at the momentLovely but running out of ideas on what to do with them. Masses frozen, some made into a puree for mixing with yoghurt later in the year. We are eating them with every meal at the moment
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Hi Watty
How about making your own Strawberry jam....once sealed in a jar it will keep for a while...or make good pressies?0 -
I must be doing something wrong with our strawberries, I can count on one hand how many we've had...it doesn't help that Ds keeps picking them as soon as they appear though:rotfl:Mortgage March 2011 £143,927.6
