:rotfl:Ah yes, the kitchen harmonica. Not really necessary in today's ipod age :rotfl:.

Ignoring the bit about OOD spices etc as we're all guilty of that .

We had a toy gun in our cutlery drawer for ages too :rotfl: not sure how these things get there, and then stay there for months on end despite looking at them everyday!

It sounds like you are having a busy half term GT, mine has got pretty booked up all of a sudden. Well done on all the decluttering and cleaning <avoids looking at the trail of devastation around me>

Good news on Mr GTs job news, fingers crossed it all works out how you want

Morning Greent, sounds like a good time was had clearing the kitchen. I love doing jobs like that :)

Don't we all accumulate a load of stuff though - it feels like such a responsibility. Are you eb@ying, CS, tipping?

Have a good week with the kids. Hope you have better weather than us.

    Tilly x

Hi Tilly - the weather was good - sadly not yesterday nor today :(

Kitchen has been good to do - quite therapeutic - still have 2 cupboards and one set of drawers left to do but was feeling rough yesterday and not up to it. Stuff which has been cleared out has had a mix of destinations - some bits have gone in the bin and the Chinese dinner set has gone in a box to try facebook pages (will cs if it doesn't go) . I don't want to hang onto stuff which I want to get rid of for too long, or it's just moving clutter from one place to another.:p

Morning greent - sub £30k is amazing, great going.

Great job, ours needs doing but I'm not allowed anywhere near the kitchen in our house, that DH's domain :) (unless i'm emptying the dishwasher or washing up that is), but he's a hoarder so it could really do with a clear out. Hopefully he'll do it at some point.

Hope you make progress with the kids bedrooms (we've just done ours)

DS3's bedroom has been 'done' - I need to hang up a mirror and that's it. Quite a lot of books and a few toys have been liberated and will be sold/ donated/ recycled as appropriate :)

DS2's room has been about 80% done - he has some shelves under his cabin bed which I need to do - but they will be easier to do when he's back at school, as there is a lot of rubbish there and he will hold onto it all given the chance! :D

Off to a park with a museum in today with the small two for some freebie fun with friends in half an hour. It's rainy, hence why we've chosen somewhere with indoor activities :)

Few small OPs made this week from cashback and money in my piggybank (shrapnel goes in there) SPent out on some food shopping (aldi & Tesco) and haircut for DD (£25 at a suburban small salon - and that was the kids price!!) & £5 for her musical theatre lesson. She has been given the task of finding some part time work to apply for! :)

Mr Gt feeling unwell - man flu. Am not very sympathetic, I have to confess.......

Off to pack snacks and a flask :)

    Good morning MSE-ers :)

Well as is fairly standard on a Saturday morning it's just myself and DS3 up. Normally we'd be leaving for swimming lessons now but it's half term so we can have a lazier morning :)

Have just written my shopping list for sainsbobs later - have a £10 off £50 spend expiring today, so shall definitely use that one up :) It's not a massively long list, but there's the usual weekly stuff on it and a few other bits (DD's lunch of choice during study leave is fishfinger sandwiches approx. every other day! - so I need to top up supplies for those!! :D)

Payday yesterday so did some money moving and put a little extra over to the mortgage :) The spreadsheet for June shows daily int of £2.03 - I'm hoping this will actually end up as £1.99 or less - which was my next target :D Then it'll be to be sub £25K - currently showing as achieved in Nov - I'd like to achieve it in Sept :)

Normally I love school hols but I have struggled with this week and am feeling frazzled - weather from midweek probably hasn't helped and I had 24 hours where I felt rough and didn't really do anything (except read a good book!) and having 2 teens revising whilst 2 smaller ones are stircrazy is a bit of a challenge! ;):D Still, DS1 finishes his exams by this time next week and DD the week after - and then life can get back to a little more 'normality' - which will be lovely! And as DD will have finished school until Sept (bar 2 days after exams - 1 leavers day and 1 6th form induction) she will be my house slave unless she gets a job :) I won't be overly mean, but she can help do more stuff around the house than she normally does! :)

Evening all :) Haven't been posting but have been keeping up with diaries this past week x

Am loving logging onto online banking and seeing our mortgage begin with a '2' - it's such a good feeling! :D OPs aren't back up to our previous level yet - we're still kind of catching back up on ourselves from DH being off.

Talking of DH, he's not had his flight details through for Saudi yet, although his passport has come back with the visa in - just need to wait for the other end to sort his travel

Crazily busy here at the mo. DD still doing GCSE exams (finishes next Fri) and DS1 has had his internal exams and a couple of external ones too. Throw in some committee meetings for me for things and the charity I volunteer at holding an event next week and I seem to be here there and everywhere. I've spent over 20 hours doing charity stuff this week and it shows in my house - I really need to spend some time on it! Tomorrow morning (regardless of the appalling weather predicted) , however, I am taking DSS1 clothes shopping - he tried on Summer things and has been left with one pair of shorts, no swimmers and about 6 less tshirts than he had - and he desperately needs new school trousers (splitting in a not good area!!!!!)

Have made a few small OPs from cashback. Must list my 20 items on ebay this month and DDhas some virtually unworn PE kit which I will try on fbook - it's school branded and the 3 items cost me about £45 - will happily accept anything between £10-15 - they are in fab condition. Also have a nearly new sale to price items for - usually nets me about £50-60 for OPs (and the children get money for the toys which sell)

Food budget being closely monitored this month - I'd like to run down some stores of things which we don't really use much of. I did have hoarder tendencies (probably down to childhood where we often ran out of things and there was never any choice and if you ate an extra of something that was then missing from the day/ meal where it had originally been allocated.) However, I'm feeling that too much of some things just becomes an added burden and clutter of a different sort - which then weighs heavy on my mind now. SO am hoping that clearing out on all levels (not just unnecessary household items/ toys etc but food and large supplies of cleaning products) will have a lifting effect :D:D
