Well, Mr G has gone off to work - yeay! :)

Lovely weekend here - the weather yesterday was beautiful and Mr G spent all day in the front garden trimming bushes (sounds like natty's thread!:D), digging up woody lavender, turning over empty beds, mowing the lawns and planting a tree :) He is a bit red faced this morning as a result - and also a little stiff and achy. I spent the day doing paperwork - much needed but not as nice as being outside! Still, I feel better for it - and will continue today where I left off yesterday :) We finished off the evening after dinner with a full family viewing of Frozen, accompanied by Maltesers/ Dairy Milk/ popcorn/ Doritos as appropriate :) Definitely counting our blessings this weekend :)

I've dropped DD off at school for a revision session on Of Mice and Men this morning. I think DS1 is still in bed.... I know DS2 definitely is!! Another lovely looking day here and washing load number one is on the line. I need DS2 up as I want to strip his bed for load number 2! I'm now off to turf them out of their respective pits, get that washing on and then collect DD for 12 :)

Glorious day here! - am thankful for lovely weather during school holidays :)

Was DS1's bday yesterday (14) - his wants seemed to consist of DS3 games, Wii games, minecraft stuff and some DVDs. Therefore he got (from us) 2 DS3 games, 1 wii game, a pair of PJs and 2 books ;) Books were on a bargain 2 for £x deal and then had a further 20% off. 2 of the games were pre-loved and bought from ebay (where I have my nectar card linked) and the other game was bought from the cheapest online supplier and went through cashback. Oh and the PJs were reduced to 20% of original price!! Bargain birthday! :) x

He currently has a friend here - they're finding food in the kitchen... I'm leaving them to it - it's painful to watch lol!

I have about a dozen things on ebay ending in less than 2 hours - and bids on only 2 :( Although one of those two is up to £11 - and I was prepared to sell if for £2.50 at WI last week! :D:D All of the others are (I hope!) on auto relist of unsold :)

School hols have gone quite nicely - lovely weather and we've mainly pottered - lots of gentle decluttering though - and some veg planting :) Haven't touched homework with the small 2 yet... must attempt some later!

Off to get DD from yet another revision session now! :)

Oh, I'm loving the gentle pace these holidays have taken :) DD had her last holiday revision at school today (9-12.30) and I popped into the charity where I volunteer for an hour (we're doing minimal work in the hols as we all have children) after dropping her off. When I collected her we nipped over to Cheltenham (dropping off an ebay parcel on the way :D) and I popped into the accountant's office and dropped off the company accounts and collected our personal tax paperwork from 2012-13, ready to prep for 2013-14 stuff :) DD had a wander around and bought some DVDs :) I bought myself a vanilla sugar pretzel (yum!) and DD a huuuuuge Cornish pasty :) Came home and have just had our old paper shredder collected (was advertised on facebook) - so something else unwanted has left the house :) Unsold items on ebay have automatically relisted and I've sorted out a few small things to list at 99p starts this weekend to get in whilst I can! :D;)

Villa booked in Portugal for Oct half term. Dates chosen for week in Devon in August :D

Life is feeling pretty nice right now :) xx

Eeeeek!!! The Easter hols are almost over :(

It's currently (as is standard on a weekend) just myself and DS3 awake. Weather here is ok at the moment but meant to be rainy later on until Friday, I believe. However, as this was forecast DH and I have done some work in the garden whilst it was nice - lawns have been cut again, more beds have been dug over, the back garden flower/ veg beds (currently empty) have been totally weeded and the patio's weeds have been sprayed (when they're crispy I'll burn them off) Rogue strawberry plants have been moved to the strawberry bed :) Potatoes have been planted (still more to do!!!) and seeds sown. I need to pick up some more tomato and courgette plants - hopefully from a car boot as they are so cheap :) Back garden now needs fence doing (need to speak to neighbours - stupid shared boundary) and patio cleaning - but it's looking nicer out there! I also need to rub down and re-oil the garden furniture (1 swinging bench, 1 large table, 1 small table and 10 chairs..... not looking forward to that!!!)

DH's job is back as a management consultant - contractor :) - I like this as it means we can play the system legitimately and keep tax bills low :) Also, the recruitment company managing the contract like things submitted weekly, so he's already had the first invoice paid and the second one approved - yeay!!! :TExpenses have also been signed off :) I haven't yet increased our mortgage OP back to it's original level as I want us all to mentally catch up with life - but the funds will be set aside for this, so that we don't get too used to too much money around :) I still need to pay this month for DS1's summer school trip to France (balance approx. £250), DD's latest drama school fees (£100), the credit card bill for 2 new suits for DH (we may have got carried away in Paul Costelloe.....:o:o) and a couple of family meals eating out to mark a- the new job and b - DS1's birthday.

FLW on eb@y this weekend, so I'll try and get a dozen or so items on there from my mountain of stuff - am gradually whittling down the preschool type toys. DS3 is 5 next month - I think I've got all of his presents sorted (Tesco and Sains sales!) - he's having a mainly Angry Birds themed birthday this year!! :D Party is booked and paid for - except food - but it's at a silly time of day so rather than spend out on food from the venue which won't be eaten I'll do snack boxes of stuff which should hopefully cost less :)

Off to finalise PTA accounts now ready for AGM this week :) We have a lovely leg of lamb for dinner later, followed by freshly baked scones or Dutch apple cake or
Vienetta - depending upon preference! :)

Hope you all have a lovely Easter!!:easter:

Good morning all! The sun is shining here and it looks lovely outside - not that I'm convinced the sun is here to stay :( But I shall get one load out on the line in a bit and take my chances :):)

Our house had 23 easter eggs in it yesterday!!!!

Last day of the hols. All uniform ironing was done ages ago, but I do need to make sure the bookbags and PE bags for the small two are ready and by the front door for tomorrow morning. And that any homework is done (DS3 needs to draw a picture) DD has an inset day, so I'm going to drop her in town mid morning, come back home and go and have my eyebrows done (using voucher received for birthday) in beauty place just up the road and then meet her in town and see if she's made any progress with prom dress shopping....

My fridge appears to be full of tubs of leftovers so I need to sort those and see what I can do with them. I think the leftover lamb will get turned into a curry - should do 2 (maybe 3) portions - there wasn't much left :D Leftover root veg mash will probably get frozen, unless I bubble and squeak it. Leftover plain mash is easy - cheesy mash to have with beans for small two for an easy tea tonight :D That leaves me leftover roasties and some other tubs..... argh!! I think tonight's dinner is going to be lots of different things for people, concentrating on using the leftovers up and not wasting any of it :) I also need to make carrot cake as I have 2 very sad oranges which will probably result in the equivalent of 1 half decent orange. Oh - and I've about 10 kilos of eating apples from my aunty...... There's only so many of those we're all going to get through in the next couple of weeks.... I forsee more apple cake and also chopping and freezing some.... argh! I've been trying to run down freezer supplies!!!

I listed 8 things on eb@y yesterday - 6 of which were the same, though!! :D I shall get a few more things on today, which means I need to rummage around in the under-the-stairs cupboard, as that's where my to-ebay stash is mainly kept :)

Edited to add: 1st load out on line - looks like rain not expected until early afternoon. Second load in machine :)

Um...... I think there's about 19 left - so not too bad! :)

Turned out to be a lovely day here in the end (although I think rain is possibly expected this evening now) so the 2 loads out on the line should be dry soon enough :) DH and I nipped to T*sco for bread, milk and peppers - the car park was heaving - always amuses me when people seem totally thrown by the large shops being shut for one whole day.....:eek:

We now have a weeny Timpson next to our T*sco and they take in dry cleaning, as well as doing key cutting & shoe repairs. They had an A frame board outside today advertising phone repairs so I nipped in to see how much for a new screen on my iphone - £39.95 and takes about an hour - am impressed at that so will drop it in later in the week :) We then popped to Gloucester Quays and Docks (DH wanted a new leather belt and had seen one in Paul Costelloe) - they had a 'garden party' event on this weekend (Mr Bloom from cbeebies was there) with lots of food and craft stalls - we bought several fruit liqueurs... I must try making my own fruit vodka and gin this year - should be far more :money:

I've half cleaned out my fridge and tidied my leftover tubs :D. Nothing has been wasted. The lamb has been turned into a lovely curry with the last of a jar of Patak's balti paste (been in the fridge for maybe a year or so:o), onions, half a tub of very dodgy looking mushrooms, a big load of spinach (bought RTC for the guinea pigs - shhh! - don't tell them - they love spinach!) and half a large jar of HM tomato relish made by an aunt - it's salsa dip style but is too sweet for my taste for a dip but has sweetened the curry after the quite bitter paste and lots of spinach just right. :T I had a small amount stirred through some leftover couscous and chickpeas and then piled it all onto a flatbread - yummy!

I need to persuade DS3 to do his drawing home work now..... I'll get him to do it at the kitchen table whilst I finish the fridge, I think :)

Hi Greent, I've just read through your entire diary and am feeling very inspired. You have made such great progress, and I'm so impressed with how organised you are, especially with 4 children!

I'm inspired to get more organised and do some more decluttering after reading your diary, so thank you
