Evening all! Have been MIA again - it's just been a bit busy here of late - I've been spending lots of time at the charity I volunteer for and DD is in full revision mode for GCSEs and we've been discussing options with DS1 (choices go in this week)

But...... on another note DH has a job offer :j:j:j:j:j He has to wait for his clearance for it - it's to do with some Govt funded thing but - assuming that's ok (and there's no reason why not!!) then he should be starting in April :beer: Whoop whoop!!

OPs have continued at a vastly reduced amount with only payments from items such as cashback, ebay and things sold at a nearly new sale going there. But psychologically it's a good thing to be making OPs of any sort.

DH has been at home since mid May of last year and didn't get a redundancy payment (having only been there about 14 months) so it's been a looooooooong time without a salary! And only receiving contrib based JSA. BUT.... that's what savings are for, hey?! We've decimated about 4 or 5 ISAs over that time but at least we had them to begin with and still have some others to fall back on if necessary.

Assuming all is ok and he starts work in April, our priorities are booking a holiday for Oct half term to Portugal (I think 2 passports need renewing, too....), building savings back up, starting regular OPs again - and gradually catching up 'missed' OPs if I can, too. Have also got 2 foreign school trips to pay for in the next few months too!!

I have lots of diaries to catch up on, so will try and make some headway on this in the next week or so. DH and I are now making the most of his time left at home (counting chickens a bit, I know....) - we've spent lazy time bumbling around shops and art galleries, not really spending, but enjoying time out whilst we have it. We've got afternoon tea out this week in a lovely hotel too :D

    xx

Well, Mr g still hasn't got a start date (small grrr) so this week we're doing bits and pieces. I have some paperwork to do, there's a small bit of minor decorating to do in one of the bedrooms (DS1 fell into the wall and cracked it lol!) and we're going out for afternoon tea and maybe pottering in the garden. oooh - and off to Jones for new shoes for DH - I love a bit of shoe shopping! And we have our youngest off school on Weds due to industrial action

Weather here is certainly variable - bright blue skies one minute, heavy rain the next. Yesterday we had 5 minutes of HUGE hailstones - it looked like it had been snowing afterwards!

Right - time for another cup of tea! :)

    Happy Sunday to all! :)
