Small OP of £5 made from a couple of CDs sold on ebay. Listed about 15 things on there today. One item has a bid already and about half have several watchers, so hopefully some more [STRIKE]rubbish[/STRIKE] treasures should go soon!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

Hello!
Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the inspiration. Started reading your diary from the start at the weekend and you provided the motivation to get listing on ebay. Only got the one bid so far but I wasn't sure any of it would sell. It was free listing so a bonus really if anything sells. Might try to put a few more things up tonight.
Good luck with everything.0 -
Thanks ajwolf!
Whilst I dislike listing things on ebay I have made some reasonable amounts of OPs when you add it all up. I have two bags in the under the stairs cupboard. ONe is full of things listed on ebay (I just relist again when there's another Free listing day) and the other is full of things to list. Usually on a FLD I relist all unsold items and then shove up 20- 30 dummy listings - blank listings with starting prices ranging from £7.50 - £50 and then over the following couple of days I hopefully amend the dummy listings to things in the 'to list' bag (and then move them to the other bag!) I do that because FLDs are usually at the weekend and I'm often too tired to list stuff then - but this way I still capture the free listing spots. It's not the best way of doing it, but it works for me, and that's what matters - ebay can be a pain, but it also has it's upside
Bids on things I put on there on Thurs are currently just over £35 and I have a lot of watchers, so am hopeful of some more £s
Have been having a bit of a sort out this week in the kitchen (hence some of the things on ebay) and today DH was sorting his wardrobe - resulting in a pile of things for the cash4clothes bagI need to do my wardrobe and have a good sort out now that Summer is over.
DD & I had our hair done today, courtesy of Groupon vouchers - so 2 x wash/ cut/ finish with hot Moroccan oil treatments cost me £34 on Groupon (and £3 parking today) - not bad!
DH is at Wembley right now, watching Roger Waters and The Wall - he has been really looking forward to it. He has (unusually) caught a coach there - £32 for the return journey and it drops off and picks up right by the venue. He's parked his car in town here all day for free (friend's business premises) and gets back around 2am. Thankfully there are only 2 drop off points before hereNot a bad deal for him travelling solo, as parking at the venue is £30, and that doesn't take into account fuel costs - and he snoozed on the way up and will do so on the way back - he's a real Martini sleeper - anytime, any place, anywhere!! He's also met up with his brother whilst in London - he's working at Wembley - putting up and taking down the stage, so they've had a couple of pints before the gig, which was nice
And he's been very MSE :money: and taken sandwiches, fruit and flask of coffee!! - this is almost unheard of!
I've fed everyone, made a tray of HUGE chocolate cookies and 30 mini banana and chop chip cakes, cleaned the kitchen, put the d/washer on, washed up and have caught up on MFW diaries. I am now going to tackle the ironing whilst watching Sat night tv - which I find quite therapeuticand think about what to do for dinner tomorrow - we have chickens, topside of beef and pork loin joints in the freezer, and I don't know what to choose!!! Pudding has to involve either apples or pears (or both!) as we have sooo many of them!
Tomorrow we're also popping to B&Q to choose paint for the lounge. The wallpaper has been chosen, the curtains purchased - I just need the paint for the other wallsI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Your freezer contents are making me drool - might be time for a snack
Congratulations to DH - it's quite difficult to save money going to a gig these days - they can get to be *very* expensive if you let them.0 -
Choose topside of beef - nomnomnomnom and how about this for pudding http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3331/toffee-apple-pudding being toffee apple pudding which is what we're having
Well done to your DH for being so good on his 'night' outCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Phase 2 - £20,000 Mortgage Fund - Underway0 -
oooh - the toffee apple pudding looks lovely - I think I might give that a try
DH may choose pears poached in red wine, though - but I can do two desserts
Think I'll do beef as that'll defrost reasonably easily if I get it out now!
DH had a fantastic time watching The Wall. Woke me up when he got in at 2.30am with a kebab lol! He's still in bed now - as are DD, DS1 and DS2 - all snoozing away. It's only myself and DS3 (4yo) up!Think I need to go and wake the others up, as it's nearly 10am
Rainy here and is meant to be all day, I believe. Glad washing is up straight other than what people wore yesterday. Two beds need changing today, but at least I don't HAVE to wash the bedding today - tomorrow is meant to be cloudy, so I'll do it then and it'll hopefully stand a chance of drying outside thenI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Well done DH on his thrifty trip up town!
Yours freezer meals/ideas do sound scrummy - need to go and find inspiration in mine though I don't think I have much I can make any good puddings out ofthough that good be better for the "fitting into my clothes" plan! :rotfl:

lol - no, the desserts aren't waist friendly!
Did the topside joint in the end - was a beautiful piece of meat (and bargainaciously reduced a few weeks ago in Sainsbobs) There's a large portion left currently sat in gravy in a tub in the fridge - I'll pop it in the freezer in the morning and DD can have it midweek sometime (she's a real lover of roast dinners) when we're eating curry or chilli, neither of which she likes.
Poached half a dozen pears in a 2008 Bordeaux - the wine should cost £15/ bottle but we had a very good deal from a friend who works at a wine merchants and we paid £2.50 a bottleI didn't do the toffee apple one in the end - but now have even more apples as my mum visited and brought me a carrier full of Bramleys!! I sent her away with some conference pears in return, though!
SO this week I shall be making some apple pies for lunchboxes, I think
OOh - that reminds me - I made these: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1263678/sausage-bean-and-cheese-pasties today - I found a (free) packet of bread mix in the cupboard and made 5 good sized pasties with 5/12 of it. The remaining 7/12 I split into two and shall use to make pizza bases. DS1 has eaten a pasty and pronounced it to his liking! The others are now in the freezer
The temperature has really dropped this weekend - I've taken a throw out of the airing cupboard up to our room tonight - we have a 4.5 tog duvet on at the mo and it's fine for most of the night, but not quite snuggly enough - but it's not cold enough for a heavier duvet yet. 4.5 + throw should be fineI've also culled a lot of will-be-too-small Summery clothes from DS2 and DS3's rooms - DS3's are being split between cash for clothes and the loft for a nearly new sale next year and DS2's are off to the loft for DS3!
I've culled some books and toys from each room, too (thinking of Xmas here - and also DS2's birthday is at the beginning of Jan) - DS2's stuff has gone to DS3, though, so DS3's room looks no better lol! There's a small pile of books and toys which are being priced up for a pre Xmas nearly new sale - but the children get the money for any toys/ books of theirs which sell
Off to do some more ironing now.......I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Afternoon all
Reasonably dry and blustery here means my washing today is basically dry - yeay!
Tomorrow is meant to be very wet - but (apparently) Fri and Sat will have temperatures of around 22 degrees - positively lovely!!
Dh decided on Monday morning that we're decorating the lounge..... This meant a tidy and sort of the (not too many) toys at the rear - 1 box has been packed up for selling and the rest despatched to bedrooms and the playroom. We then had to empty the (full height) bookcase - we probably culled almost 2 shelves worth of books straight off. I'll attempt to sell some, as they're all hardbacks in read-once-and-have-lived-in-a-glass-fronted-bookcase-ever-since condition. I then decided that DS2 could have the bookcase (minus the doors, which I'll attempt to sell) So I then had to go and empty DS2's shelving unit (having tidied it on SUnday) and I moved it to DS3's room - where (you guessed it!) I then emptied DS3's shelving unit (which is now in garage ready to try and sell!) DS2 and DS3s rooms look a lot tidier and both are pleased with their 'new' shelvesAll of our books are, meanwhile, in boxes in the playroom......
We've sanded down the cream stone fireplace (was very grubby) and DH is filling in where some grouting type stuff has fallen out. I've started sealing it with some hideously expensive stuff which we already had in garage left from buying some expensive tumbled stone mosaic tiles. We've chosen the wallpaper for the feature wall, and bought the paint for the other walls (was on offer) and DH has removed one of the radiators ready to replace it (so our central heating system is currently drained) tomorrow. I think we're then stripping wallpaper and then he's glossing and painting the coving and ceiling (lucky him!!!) Then some painting of walls and finally wallpapering (lucky me!) (We also want new carpet, new furniture and new sofas.... but that's for another time!!!) I already have my lovely new purple curtains for in there ready for when we're done
I've spent quite a few hours getting accounts for DH's old company done ready for accountant (for company year 2012-13) and posted them this afternoon. Next paperwork job is getting the personal tax return stuff for DH and myself done for accountant and sending that over... such joy!
Oh - best mention something MFW related, I suppose! Ebay items currently standing at around £54, I think - so there should be an OP heading there next week, hopefully!I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
