You sound super organised (compared to me!) - we have bought a Christmas tree - but only because last year this was the weekend that Morries got their supply of Nordman trees for £18 (and they were the same price) so it's in a bucket of water outside the back door for a few weeks now!
Sorry to hear your prospective buyers have gone awol. I guess lots of people's circumstances are changing rapidly and causing them to change their plans given the economic consequences. Fingers crossed it resolves for youSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Congrats to your daughter on her dissertation.

Shame about the BTL buyers. Good manners require very little input. A simple message saying they are not or cannot go forward takes very little time or effort. Anyway, I agree - back on the market. The least this will do is galvanise them into action if they fear losing the property. What I do not give, you must never take by force.

The robo vac hasn't arrived yet - I think the expected date was tomorrow - but when I've checked the tracking the parcel seems to have been stuck for a few days, so I'm not convinced!
Still nothing from BTL - I have today chased my sols and the estate agent again and I have said that it is to be remarketed if no response today.
In better news, I won £75 on the premium bonds this month (after £50 last month, and £25 in Sept, I think) - and DH found out today that he is getting a one-off net £4k payment in Dec salary for going above and beyond on a recent multi-million £ dealI am earmarking that towards work on the house.....
We have had our new fire fitted this week, so I've had to pay the last payment on that (50%) - but it works, it fits the gap and it is safeI've also managed to book an electrician in for mid Jan to change some lights and sort some dodgy sockets in the kitchen - will then re-book him to change the consumer unit, sort the outside lights and fit some outside sockets in the Spring
Seem to be spending lots of money at the mo - but all good stuff
And I've had contact with a builder our friends have used a few times about doing some other work
DS1 is having a C0vid test today as part of his prep for coming home from uni for Xmas. He can't book the 2nd until he has a negative result - I am hoping we should have him home by Tues at the latest, though. I've had him collecting an online order from a shop in his uni city today, as it is out of stock virtually everywhere else in the UK/ online. DD's bday is next Fri, so I have booked lunch out for the 4 of us (smalls are at school) that day. Xmas meal out with friends has been cancelled by venue as we are 2 households - it's a shame, but it saves us £100 for the food, plus the drinks, I guess! (looking for the positives here!)
Oooh - and I've now lost just over (by 0.5lb!) 2.5 stone this year - 2 stone of which is since JulyStill need to lose almost that amount again, though (we shall see - I may be happy with another 1.5 stone - that would take me to a weight I haven't seen since 2000!) I was even planning on wearing a little black dress out for our Xmas meal with friends - but that is sadly now not happening.
Lots more stuff has left the house this past week - mainly stuff of the kids sold via fb00k and some smaller bits via flebay - and a huge blanket box via fb00k. All for peanuts in reality - but the main thing is it has gone(need jumping up and down emoji!!) I do still have a pile awaiting listing, though - if I have any hope of selling it before Xmas I should get on with it tomorrow.... And my boot is full of things for the CS to drop off in the morning

Hi earthie
I'm looking forward to trying it out - it's going to have to have a name - current favourite is Robbie
I'm really pleased with how much 'stuff' is going - most isn't being replaced, too. My original target was 2020 in 2020 (which I thought was going to be hard, considering I declutter fairly often and have Kond'ed a few years ago) and then I upped that to 2500 in 2020 and now I've exceeded that - I'm currently on 2580Getting to 2750 would be great - but I think another 170 items in 4 weeks is a tad optimistic!!
Buyers' solicitors have apparently sent enquiries to my sols back in mid Oct and have been awaiting a reply..... strange how they have not chased a reply, nor answered any chasers/ phone messages from my sols or the estate agent until the threat of remarketing appeared... They will apparently re-send the queries today.....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -

Thought I’d pop in and say hi. Well done on the loss. What are you doing? Anything specific?
How annoying re the BTL. House selling / buying is seriously so frustrating and annoying. Hope it picks up for you.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
