Half term is here - yeay!! Am so ready for it!!
4 fleabay parcels will be leaving here today - 3 huge boxes of HappyLAnd toys and 1 small parcel of freebie toiletries sold :T HappyLand stuff went for good money - some more than what was paid for it brand newMeans smallest 2 also get a boost to their money boxes. Will update sig total later. Have some Thomas/ brio stuff to sort and list now - mostly belonged to DS1 - as a nearly 17yo I am sure he'd love the boost to his funds too!
DS3 has swimming lesson this morning - OH will take him whilst I go to Sainsbobs for suppliesWill try and resist too many treats and instead bake some things with the smalls - we have things which need using up and it's also quite a fun (if sometimes messy) activity
Other than that we don't have much planned for half term - a trip to the cinema to see Lego Batman movie and McD's (DS2 is 'free' - he's doing this for a friend's birthday - I will take DS3 anyway as he wants to see it and if we go at the same time it makes my life easier) My mum has promised them a trip to TRUs - she saves coins in a jar and banked them last week and got £35 - so she will spend that (and more!) there - I will also get the boys to take some of their ebay booty with them
It will mean more Lego in the house, for sure.....
We have some homework tasks to do - and a lot of bedroom tidying to do in both DS2 and DS3's rooms. DS1 also needs to sort his - I am hoping that the partners to all the odd socks currently living in the airing cupboard may emerge as a result! :rotfl:
Mr Gt is not liking the new role - very stressed and the working hours are even sillier than I realised - he started work at 6am yesterday. He's not eating properly, nor sleeping properly and is a right grump as a result. Am hoping when the first bit of the project goes live it will ease up and stress levels drop. The date for that is Mon 6th March - which is my birthday. He is determined to wfh that day, but I fear that may cause issues. We shall see. I'm a big girl and could cope with him being away but it is his idea to be at home. (although he will be so busy we wont get a break for lunch together and he will be squirreled away in the office all day, so I'm not sure what the point is)
BTL electrics all sorted now - haven't had the final bill yet, but am feeling much happier that everything is compliant and safe. :jI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Ooops - have neglected here of late
NNS went reasonably well - think I sold 145 items - children were pleased with the money received! Donated a further 72 from unsold things to CS. 2 boxes of unsold items to try again another time (includes some seasonal items) and no doubt will add to that over the next few months as things are outgrown/ tired of!
BTL bill ended up being £1800!!! And some of the rewiring was put in trunking, not chased in, so it's not pretty. The walls there are some sort of black cinder block and horrible to chase into and will be very messy so will sort this when tenants are on holiday (they're having 3 this year!)
DD is coming home this weekend (it's my birthday next week) - I am going to collect her on FriI think OH will end up taking her back on Sunday as she is coming with a list of things she wants to take back - and has requested to raid food stores! It looks like she has finally found somewhere to live next year - it's close to her lecture halls - and the pubs and chip shops - all important, apparently!:rotfl:
I have a busy week scribing next week - a student has broken their thumb and can't write for long periods, so I'm scribing for their mock A2s. Also have some 'regular' invigilation. Think that's it then until April, when I have 2 weeks working and it's the Easter hols - and then it gets to the proper silly season from 5th May through into July (external exams end 30th June but there are some internal ones for Y10s being held after them in July at one school - they tried to slot them in between GCSEs last year and it was hell)
Am mildly anaemic - explains some of the total wiped-outness I've been feeling (just put it down to being a busy mum) - have given in and agreed to a supplement as I am tired and breathless and with OH away I need to be fully functioning as much as possible. Have thrown in a separate 'women' multi-vit and minerals as well (but with no iron) just for belt and braces
Oooh - almost forgot - biggest news of the day here - DS2 got into his preferred secondary school (in the next town....) - he is very pleased (rightly so - it is fantastic - and totally suitable for a weird nerd like him!) 3 companies look like they may be offering bus routes from close-ish to us to there. Prices range from £850- £1420 per annum!!:eek: (there is no PAYG service) Times for him to leave the house range from 7.05am - 7.40 am. My preference is for as late as possible! - which is luckily the cheapest one (gets him home quickest, too) - I will register interest with all 3, just to make sure (no commitment required until June, by which time all routes and prices will be confirmed one way or another)
Hmm... other than that, not much has been happening here. OH still stupidly busy (12hour or more days) but is WFH on Monday :T, which will be nice. (he will actually be working, though, as it's 'live' day for one of the projects, so I won't exactly see him! :rotfl:)
Right - quick bit of ironing and then bed for me

Congratulations to DS2, thats a big deal. Your iron supplements are a big deal too, of course, hope that gives you some of your oomph back.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

DD was home for the weekend (without bf), which was lovely - although far too much 'treat' eating was involved! Sent her back with lots of food and goodies, including some hm choc cookies - which the bf requested!
Money news - have got £45 coming back from Sains energy (we left months ago but they wrote to us saying they owed us some money) - bonus! Also cashed out £90 from tcb last night in amaz0n vouchers - the kettle is leaking and I can get the same one as we have on there cheaper than anywhere else (way out of gtee) Not much else happening, really. Am busy at work this week after today with Y13 mocks, including scribing for a student with a broken thumb! - lovely chem and maths exams(someone else is doing the bio, as I didn't want to work today
)
beautiful looking day here, s o am off to collect some washing so it can go outside when it's done
Happy Monday!x
