    Courgette/ choc cake: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/633634/chocolate-courgette-cake

except I don't use nuts or make the frosting and I double the cocoa and also grate 50g of dark (70%) choc into the dry ingredients. It's quite yummy :)

Ebay items sold so far: £50 + p&p (I try and get p&p to cover some of the paypal fees) Some more finishing later, so I should have a couple more £ to add. Also have more ending tomorrow. Disappointed the one item didn't sell at £55 :( - will relist next time there's a freebie :) I'm hopeful that I should be able to withdraw at least £75 from paypal this week to OP :D (that includes £5.55 from ciao surveys) Also means about 1/2 large packing box of baby clothes will have left the house :):T

Just sent an OP of £65 from ebay sales and this week's tax credits payment.:D Balance now just under £97.5k by my calculations :)

Also decided to be organised and phone C&G to increase our DD - ws only going to increase by £50, but changed my mind on the phone and upped it by £100 instead. It's (the OPs) all going to sub account 01 at teh moment - largest int rate and largest balance. However, the int rate falls wef Oct, as the fix ends, and I might stick on SVR for the time being - which would mean I'll divert OPs into sub account 02, as it will have a higher int rate (and will mean much faffing around with spreadsheets!!)

That aside, the £65 OP and the increased DD have been put into s/sht and have brought MF date fwd from 04/2019 to 05/2018.:T The drop in int rates brings it forward again to 12/2017 - and that would change slightly again if OPs were diverted to sub account 02 instead of 01. (ETA: just played with s/sht and would take a further 2 months off, I think)

That's getting closer to my ideal target date of 07/2016..... Not sure how sustainable OPs are and how stable rates are, though!

    Hi greent!
Just went through your diary and am really impressed by your ebaying. I've been having a major declutter having moved but have sent most stuff to charity shops. I really should start ebaying!
Well done on all your progress.

    Hi Jellie -

I have a binliner in the garage of charity items, too - just waiting for a bag that I approve of!!

Just sent another £50 to the mtge - withdrew £40 from paypal from ebay, someone repaid me £5 and I rounded it up to make £50 :D

Should manage another £30-40 from paypal next week, once the rest of the ebayers have paid, too!! Was meant to list items tonight to end Sun - too frazzled from the kids (really played up tonight)

Ah well - up early in the morning. DD is having her braces fitted at 9.10am and we're off to meet up with friends in the next city for a picnic - but I need to bake cakes/ biscuits before then!! I'm thinking mega choc brownies and flapjacks....

Picking DH up from the station about 7.30 tomorrow night :D

Hi greent. Wow, you are super motivated! And you have a very positive outlook, which can only be a good thing at times like these.

However, baking with children? Fun? I think we will have to agree to disagree on that front. My child and any creative activity is a traumatic experience for me! :)

Good luck with the braces today. I have a feeling we will be going down that road at some point, due to the evils of thumbsucking. I dread it.

Nearly the weekend. Wishing the school holidays away.....

lol! I don't mind baking with the children - I don't like playdoh or painting though :(

DD had top brace fitted - bottom brace needed new mould taken as wouldn't fit at all - so that one is being fitted on Sat morning. Went to opticians today with the children. DD needs glasses (one eye quite badly s/s) - never needed tehm before. DS1's eyes have improved from his previous 'scrip, so he needs new glasses. DS2 is ever so slightly l/s in one eye - so she wants to see him back in 6 months to check. Argh! At least it's free!! Poor DD - glasses and braces in a fortnight!

DH had some good news today - looked at (yet another) room to rent last night - and was offered it today. Was chuffed, as others were looking at it and he only needs it for 3 months, so that's a really short tenancy. Can move in on Sunday. Month's rent (inc all bills) is just over 1 week's hotel bill - yeay!! And he can make proper food to eat!! :D Poor thing is working long hours this week - got back to the hotel at almost 9.30 :( This means that the DC and I may be off to Newcastle for a few days ;) I have to confess to never having been 'up North'...:o:o

Transferred more ebay money from Paypal today so should be able to make another £50 OP on Friday :D Relisted 6 unsold items on there tonight and WILL list some 'new' ones on Thurs evening, too (I will, I will, I will....)

Right - off to iron a few things (not MSE that way, but too tired to do much, but at least SOME gets done this way - loads of ironing here with 6 - I iron everything! I'm my own worst enemy!:rotfl::p)

Night all - will catch up on diaries tomorrow - have been awol for a few days..

  • Hello GreentT,

Good news about your OH - having his own room will be much nicer than anonymous hotels every night as well as being cheaper!

I do baking with my nephews when they come and see me, as its a novelty for them (my sister-in-law doesn't 'do' cooking) and they love it. We do fun things like flapjacks and chocolate cornflake cakes - all the recipes from when I was little.

I'm in awe of your ebay success - I have 11 things listed at the moment, and keep checking in every few hours to see if I've got any bids (so far two) and how many watchers I've got. Sad or what?! Do you just ebay stuff yo want to get rid of, or do you buy things specifically to sell?
