Firebox always include sweeties in orders, never seen a problem with it (I don't actually eat them though, as they seem to be gummis and I'm a veggie- still appreciate the idea though.

I just wouldn`t fancy eating sweets I wasn`t sure of... its personal preference.
Its is a lovely thought for sellers who go to the trouble of adding bits to orders as they don`t have to and I always appreciate any effort taken with extras and nice packaging rather than something shoved in an envelope.
Things like a little business card or even a nice sticker on something is lovely.

I know what you mean. I got sent a sweet with some perfume samples from America and the wrapper was sticky too! Nice thought but straight in the bin!"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

I bought a new fabric bag from a business seller, and the seller enclosed a highly sented tea light - pine like loo cleaner, and smelt so much that I had to wash the bag before I could use it.0

When I was clearing out my bead collection on eBay I always threw in a little extra bag of beads. I even tried to match it to the items bought or even better where possible I would send a small bag of something that the buyer was bidding on but hadn't won. It was no trouble for me, the buyers loved it and I'm not a business (just used to make beaded jewellery as a hobby) so it cost me nothing. Plus it helped me clear out my collection quicker. I'd have been quite put out at a buyer whinging about a free gift.0

I bought some santa sacks from ebay at xmas, a free gift was mentioned so i was expecting maybe some gift tags or something related? i was so shocked to find a sachet of ovaltine in the parcel!
As a seller, i've recently been selling baby clothes and sold a few bundles (1 was 100% items from 1 store) i found some extras in same which i was happy to include for free until my husband suggested that i shouldn't because they weren't from the mentioned store and could maybe anger the buyer even though they are free. so i just listed the surplus items seperately, and they sold
If google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -

I used to sell quite a bit of car stuff and used to include a free tax disc holder as i was given a massive box of them at work. No one ever said thanks or even made comment on them though!0

I recently received a free gift from an online shop and was so pleased with it. I thought it was very pretty and the person had put in a little hand written note to say it was free. It was a lovely gesture and I love it, and she said it was for being a good customer, and it is only a small shop. The service is excellent too, and I can only wish her all the very best for the future.Do a little kindness every day.;)0

I think each to their own I suppose, I've had a number of small freebies with purchases Ive made not only from Ebay but other online shops and I think its a real treat, however I do agree that if I got sweets/chocolates etc or anything edible from someone or someplace I didnt know I would not eat it! nevertheless I always make a point of Thanking someone if they have indeed included something as a little extra, appreciation and good manners cost nothing quite honestly I think their are more serious things to whinge about lol:) then a few unwanted freebies (in most cases) the person was just trying to be nice! I'm a keen ebayer and sell loads of bits of pieces on Ebay and I always make an effort to wrap items nicely depending on the item I'll wrap it in tissue paper and put in a little gift bag and 90%of my buyers have said that they really like or appreciate the extra effort I put in to packaging their items which is nice!LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT

I've never had anything free
*tear*
But I think if I were to get a free gift and it wasn't mentioned or didn't come with a note, I'd be a bit confused as to why it was there. Otherwise I'd be pleasantly surprised, even if I didn't want it. It's the thought that counts I suppose
