hi all my problem is that they have taken my DD money on the correct date but now have sent me a letter my account is in arrears, telling me they got no money on that date ,phoned and was told they will look in to it ,asked because of this "so called missed payment" !!! will my credit rating be affacted and was told yes but !!!! ,then told me to phone complains dept tomorrow ,I m going to phone and give off
This is exactly what I saw coming...
Cahoot/Santander's errors are going to end up costing it's customers in terms of charges and credit rating. I guarantee this is only going to get worse.Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed

Let us know how you get on tomorrow and what their response is. Might be worth asking what they intend to do if this starts affecting people's credit rating.Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed

hi all phoned this morning and they comfirmed my payment had been made on the correct date ,but have told me another arrears letter is on the way !!!!! and just bin it ,also told me that because my payment was not more than 30 late (never was late, it was made on time) their fault they dont put it on your credit rating ,but we will all will have to wait and see .Also confirmed that this is costing a fortune to send out letters and statements (must have it but we will all pay with extra charges no doubt)0

Our 'arrears' letter arrived today, despite DH being assured that everything was under control & was being rectified :mad::mad:
........unfortunately their switchboard is jammed (or they can't work out how to pick up a phone, who knows?) so DH is venting his spleen in writing (provided the paper doesn't catch fire)I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Direct Debit wasn't taken about 2 weeks ago, OH phoned them up within 48 hours & was assured that they would sort out the problem & collect the money asap....all this was done before the date of the 'arrears' letter.
He will phone them from his office tomorrow - he reckons he will keep his temper better there!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I have had a loan also transferred from Cahoot to Santander, they took the first dd payment in Feb, missed March (it always comes out on the 24th of the Month), I was hoping I wouldn't hear but I got a letter from their collections department yesterday too................ haven't been able to get through to them at all, think I will just wait for them to take it out of my account at a later date............ had better be careful though re. my credit rating0

I have had the same problem too. I have managed to get through to Santander using the number 01908 202800. When you give them your account number they will put you through to the department handling cahoot loans.
Speaking to them, it appears that any DD due to be paid around the 20th (mine was 26th) did not get taken. I was told this would not go on my credit record and that I could make the payment now (I agreed Thursday with them) and that subsequent months would go according to plan.0 -
I had dreadful problems with Santander so all I can say is make sure you get everything in writing if you can as they denied all the information they gave to me over the phone. A complete and utter nightmare and I hadnt anything in writing from them.
