Cahoot Loan problems

I've had the opposite problem. My payment was due to come out on the 28th but nothing came out. 1st time called was told could'nt help me as had no details (wanted to know amount due). 2nd time was told to keep checking bank acc. 3rd time was told how much the payment was but no payment due as account fully uptodate. I also have an extra DD now to santander acc no same as original cahoot so was hoping would just carry on. Am having to leave money in bank in case decide to take payment. To make matters worse bank with alliance leicester so them santander too and have a flexible loan with them so I'm worried might do same with that one.0

I have also had this transfer but nothing has happened. Payment for the loan is meant to be requested on 1st of the month, but no Santander direct debit is showing as having been set up and no money has been taken from the Cahoot direct debit which is apparently still active. I bank with Natwest. I am concerned that I have now inadvertently defaulted on the loan repayments and I can't contact anyone as there's no online access and Santander don't work on Sundays or on Saturdays after 2pm.0

I have emailed customer services to complain and also asked my bank to refund the sneaky direct debit. The only records I have of the loan account is the information stored on my online account so I have requested copies of all my statements and a full reconcilliation of the loan balance as I really dont know how much I owe them to the nearest penny and I only have their word over the phone as to my balance.
I also noticed when going through my emails that I had complained about payment protection insurance which they added to my account without asking me. Their response suggested that I had agreed to it when I took out the loan but have now found an email confirming that I did not agree to PPI when I took out the loan. So have complained about this and have a phone number to call to try and sort it out. No idea how much the PPI was cos obviously I cant get into my account details online.
It never even crossed my mind to print out all my statements or account details. Silly really.:A0 -
This whole situation astounds me.
"It never even crossed my mind to print out all my statements or account details. Silly really." - Why should it? We had online access to our loans before, surely one of the benefits of online banking is that there is no need for paper statements.
Jenny: Let us know how you get on with the complaint, you really seem to have taken a battering from them!Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed

Yes I must admit, I am really annoyed that they have removed online access to this loan, surely other Santander loan customers can access their accounts online?
It beggars belief that we are now going to have monthly paper statements and can only service the loan via telephone instead of online, surely this is a retrograde step in this day?Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Have you had confirmation that customers will receive monthly statements?Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed

Has anyone received a statement through the post, I have not!!! Also has anyone elses DD date been changed, I have had no notification of this, and has budgted for the DD on the 12th of each month, and hope and pray they not not try and change this as the money will not be there before that.0

HappyMonkey - I'd recommend you call up to check when your Direct Debit is due and check with your bank to see if another DD has been set up. Santander appear to be just as prone to major screw ups and screw overs as Cahoot was.Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed

Hi all,
Received an email from Cahoot to tell me that they are not dealing with any enquiries and that I need to contact Santander. No idea what the Cahoot helpdesk ARE doing if not dealing with enquiries. Sitting twiddling their thumbs I think. Anyway I have emailed customer.services@santander.co.uk to see if i get any response from them. I know I could call them but its easier to set out the issues in an email and I just dont have time at the moment to call. I'll give them a few days to respond to email before I call.:A0
