Cahoot Loan problems

I too have had a 2nd direct debit setup without my authority. Only it was for £225. So had 2 lots off £225 coming off. I spoted it early and my bank was able to reverse and cancel there direct debit.
I then called them up asking to pay the £8900 Loan off in full and was told that because of the Cahoot to Santander migration they couldn't take a payment over the phone or online, and I would have to send them a cheque in. I find this incredibly irritating that I can't even pay the thing off when I want. I writing a complaint to them, then the ombusman. They hiked up with interest so much without any missed payments and then when I want to pay it off they put another barrier in the way!!!0 -
They tried the second direct debit setup with me, but I saw the 'new' direct debit and promptly cancelled it online.
My view is that if they want to change the originator then they can bl@@dy well ask me first.Debts: Total - [STRIKE]£39,144.54[/STRIKE] £38,915.900 -

Except that they didnt inform all of thier customers. I didnt have any notification of the withdrawal of my loan limit.
But yes, end of cahoot flexible loans.

Hi guys! sorry for the swearing above but cahoot or santander or whatever they like to be called these days are really starting to !!!! me off now . I was checking my bank account online this morning and they have taken out another dd payment, this is the third one that they have taken, my reg is on the 22nd, then on the 25th (which i got charged for as i never had enough funds for as had not been paid yet and which i did not expect) and now one today, which has gone threw. I ask! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
Like many of you after the second payment i phoned them up, and thats when i found out that they had become santander, i received no letter that this was going to happen, no letter to state the online flexi account facility was ending and now i've read that they have put up the interest rate for many of you and i never even thought of checking what my interest rate is now.
Be warned! After seeing the way that i have been treated by them i decided to ask for a settlement figure which they gave me and have they decided to come up with a new fee. They call this the advance overdraft interest which they are charging £104, and on top of that they want another months payment after its paid off, i really don't understand what is going on! This is the second short term loan that i have taken with cahoot and when i settled the first for £8000 they never charged me this, only one little interest when it was settled.
My advice is if you can pay it off, pay it off, or at least transfer to a lower interest rate and somewhere you can keep an eye on what is going on! I personally think there is no glitch, i mean these guys have been planning this for year now and spent afew millions doing so, i think this is just penny pitching, hoping to take afew pennys and people won't notice or mind, takes the mick really.
will be glad to see the back of this loan folks, hope you can do the same, have a good day guys.0 -
My cahoot loan direct debit has been coming out of my bank on the 26th of each month for the last 4 years, yet the 26th of march payment hasn't left my account yet? Checked with my bank and the dd is set up correctly and for santander rather than cahoot so everything is correct my end. Any clues on this and what, if anything i should do? Has it happened to anyone else? I received no correspondance off either cahoot or santander.0

exactly the same has happened to me. my direct debit has not come out of my account for my cahoot loan. the direct debit is live and its even changed its name to santander loan but no payment taken. has anyone been told as to why its not been taken? you cant even view your loan online anymore. what bad service this is.0 -
I've posted on another thread "my cahoot direct debit has stopped" or something to that effect. Someone else has had the same rproblem as us and when contacting Santander they said they had received thepayment!!?? After a few calls to there bank Snatander admitted that there was a major glitch effecting numerous accounts so not the customers fault. No advice on what they were doing about it though. I'm putting the cash to one side so it's there when they finally do get it sorted.0

I'm having exactly the same problems - there are only 2 more payments due to fully pay off my loan - it was due to be repaid by the end of April, however March's payment has still not been taken. Ive checked my bank and the Cahoot dd is still active -hasnt been changed to Santander. Ive had absolutely no communication from either Cahoot or Santander and I cant now access my Cahoot account online now! Maybe they're letting me off with my last 2 payments ha ha!;)0

IF ONLY! I've got 12 months left on mine, i'm just going to leave it until they resolve it, i'm not getting anywere on the phone to them, they haven't a clue what has happenned, they have received it there end?? Rung barclays again and they haven;t even tried to take it. The main thing is, my end is correct and the money is there so i'm covered acording to my bank.0
