Looking for a cheap flight to Sydney

Ok, I'll tell you what you should do. It's just a shame you didn't know that at the time of your 'Bangkok' thread,
This solution will depend on whather you can get a refund on the one way BA ticket that you purchased earlier.
What she would need to do, is to buy a return ticket from Bangkok with a return to Bangkok on the 15th of December. £520 with Etihad.
If you paid £400 for the earlier O/W, that would mean that the London to Bangkok portion would cost the equivalent of £120.
From there, you purchase a O/W flight from Thailand to OZ for less than £200 and then a one way from OZ to London for £560 for the equivalent of £880.
Of course, that would depend on you getting a full refund from BA.

hi again - when i tried the austravel website it showed no availability either, but i got them to phone me and they found flights for me over the phone - i deffo recommend you speak to them directly rather than through the website. couldn't believe it when they told me the price, i thought it was excluding taxes at first!0

I was referring to refunding the BA flight and purchasing a two way flight from Bangkok.
Anyway, let's hope Austravel come up with the goods. Let us know the price quoted.
I wonder why thetope didn't tell us...0 -
That's right.
So, what was the quote?

Depends on where you are based.0 -
Austravel quoted me £830 to £890 including taxes BUT THESE FLIGHTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE
£1027 + taxes for the first available
I'm still looking.0 -
Just as I expected...
As I wrote before, the best deals are those I posted before.
My preference is for the Paris connection, as Cathay Pacific are a top airline.
That, at £995 plus £76 for the UK connection with BA. All taxes included.
Otherwise you can enquire as to whether BA will give a full refund.
If they do, the the total cost of your daughter flying BKK - LON - BKK - MEL - LON would be around £1200. Which is around the same as it will cost to fly UK to OZ and back(indirect flight).
Hope you can understand the slightly convoluted explanation.0
