Looking for a cheap flight to Sydney

Thanks for your comment.richardw wrote:China Eastern and Gulf Air are usually cheapish, but at peak times they might be expensive. Talk to https://www.trailfinders.com and ask about flight+hotel deals, even if you book 1 night's hotel accommodation it might be cheaper than flight only.
How does that work?

£800 will get you to Bangkok for those dates. I have noted charter flights for those approx. dates for around £899 in the Daily Mail.0

As already said by other posters Dec-Jan is peak time and hence most expensive for flights to Oz.
Try Airline Networks, they have flights from £1200 which isn't bad. For your info thats about what I paid when I went to Oz for X-mas 1991.

China Eastern comes in at £1022 from London, with an overnighter in Shanghai.
China Airlines, via Taipei, £1080 from AMS(Netherlands).
Cathay Pacific, via Hong Kong, £995, from CDG(Paris) 16th Dec to 7th Jan0 -
i booked tickets at the weekend for december, going out to perth and home from cairns from www.austravel.com - i got them for £760 with cathay pacific, but the cheapest price quoted on the actual cathay pacific website was over £1200. given that it isn't actually a return fare i thought that was an excellent price. i would recommend giving them a call (or, alternatively log on to the website and request a call back). trailfinders quoted me £1000 travelling with qantas.
looking on the austravel website 15th december to 7th jan they *seem* to have flights available around the £750-£850 mark but you're better phoning them.0 -
I usally search using the following company's
STATravel
Trailfinders
Flightcentre

The flights shown on the Austravel site don't include taxes and charges.0 -
Hello thetope
Thanks for taking the time to post a reply. I've just tried the Austravel web site but no joy for the dates she would like to go. I expect I'm doing something wrong so I'll try again later.
