Looking for a cheap flight to Sydney

Hi Everyone

I'm looking for a flight to Sydney departing London mid December returning 7th to 10th Jan 2007.

I've tried various websites including Opodo,Ba,Virgin, to name just a few.

Hope someone out there can help. Thanks

Flights are cheaper to Australia before 9th December but you might struggle to find a cheap flight coming back around the 7th January. We booked our flights (returning 5th Jan) as they were released in January 2006 and they were sold out within a few weeks. It isnt just prime holiday period Jan 2007 it is also the Ashes Test in Sydney after New Year.

I'd forgotten about The Ashes, I'm not a cricket fan. Will the series take place over Xmas?

Without sounding offensive, can I ask what kind of price you are hoping / expecting to pay please. It will help when looking to find you a fare.

There is a test in Melbourne starting Boxing Day, then the Sydney Test starts 2nd January so most will be travelling to Sydney 30th/ 31st December. I think that there is also a 20 / 20 game in Sydney on the 9th January.

China Eastern and Gulf Air are usually cheapish, but at peak times they might be expensive. Talk to https://www.trailfinders.com and ask about flight+hotel deals, even if you book 1 night's hotel accommodation it might be cheaper than flight only.
