If anyone is interested I got an email newsletter though from them, couple of good offers- Buy 4 x Hankook tyres save £25
- Free mail order delivery
- They have now got full manufacturers servicing! and you get a £20 voucher!
They may well be deemed as Premium now, they were once very budget tyres.0 -

From what I have seen of Hankooks, I think i may go for the run flats, good price and with the extra £25 saving it's worth it!
The tyres at blackcircles.com will only cost me £440 for 4 premium run flat tyres, Pirelli cost £609!

Secondly - another consideration not mentioned so far is miles per gallon (sorry - kms per litre). I had Michelins on my car when new and was achieving 40-42 miles per gallon. I've now replaced them with another lesser-known make and can't get more than 38 mpg. I haven't worked it out but, 2-4 less mpg at current fuel prices probably equates to more than the cost-saving I made on the tyres.
Hmmm - I'm currently getting 40.7 MPG out of my car and the quoted combined figure is 42.0.
I thought that the book figures were usually pretty hard to achieve - but maybe tyres would make that small difference?
Over 10k miles that'd equate to about 7 gallons of fuel, or £37 at current rates. I'd bet that Michelins in 205/55/16 are more than £9.25 a corner more than the Kumho tyres I mentioned earlier though.0 -

All the major tyres I've seen say where they are made on the side wall - so you would know where they come from.
It the Chinese brands that are generally worst for tyres. A brand can be made anywhere and will be made to that brands standard - be it high or low.
Current Michelins I have are from Germany and France with Toyos from Japan and Continentals from Germany. Never seen a premium say made in China yet - but it shouldn't mean anything if it were.0 -

I was refering to post #51 to be honest Zanibar, more a generic response to the infiltration of chinese goods under european/british branding, but i digress;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I have found that both Blackcircles and E-tyres prices can easily be beaten. My last 3 pairs of tyres, 2 from Ford RapidFit and 1 this week from TyreShopper have been well below their prices plus my 2 nearest Blackcircles fitters would not be allowed near my car.
My local Ford RapidFit was the cheapest in my area for my new pair of Toyo Proxes just before Christmas, beating BlackCircles hands down, so you are not alone in this!DFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -
Don't forget there are two Chinas0

it depends because some companies are producing good quality tyres even at affordable prices cause they are enjoying more tax benefits due to some social helping activities .....my choice is expensive tyres ..... i don't want to have risk0
