I think it's a crime not to report a crime, so the head of school should hopefully have already done it?

Call the police, and press charges, inform them there is CCTV at school. As a teacher i see too much of kids getting away with stuff like this, it is not acceptable, the police will be able to obtain a copy of the CCTv footage for the case. dotn let them get away with it

Under data protection, the school will not be allowed to show or give you the cctv.

However, they have to hand it over to the police, so definitely make a report.

Ask the school to make a copy of the cctv for the police and try and make sure they have actually done this. Chase the police and the school.

The cctv will be recorded on a loop, and it may be a day long, or a week or longer, but if you don't get a copy in time, it will be gone forever.

I hope your DD is okay.

Hi, 15 year old DD has had hassle with a group of girls at school from the start.

We've just had the school on the phone, and whilst they won't say how they've "dealt" with the assault- citing data protection- they have said that it's been caught clearly on CCTV. Our feeling is that very little is being done...

    .

I don't quite understand their citing data protection. Your daughter is still a child and I believe you are entitled to be kept fully informed. Whose data are they protecting anyway?

Ask them exactly what they mean and ask to be told exactly why they are withholding information from you about your daughter.
