So glad this was posted! I am desperate for this stuff at the moment too - as well as deep fried chips...... (I haven't had those for years, except from the chip shop!)
Its all I want - that and Egg Fried Rice. And Battenburg Cake. And Apple Pie.
I am forcing myself to eat "decent" food right now as I am already overweight!0 -
For those that can't stomach ginger, you can buy ginger root capsules from Holland and Barrett, that you don't have to taste.
Hope this isn't perceived as medical advice. I'm just suggesting an alternative source for ginger?? LOL.
I used to take them when I suffered from alot of nausea (pregnancy and non pregnancy related).

Battenburg cake- I used to make that many years ago when living with Mum and Dad. Big family, so if you wanted cakes, was home made - I used to think it was dead posh to have shop bought!
Can't remember the recipe, and I cannot bake now - well, can do pastry, but cakes....hmmmm. It might have been a madeira cake recipe, but I might be wrong. Will ask my Mum. Then, it was a case of rolling out the marzipan to cover. Spread the cake with jam, then cover with rolled out marzipan. I have a distant memory of even making marzipan. You need ground almonds, but that is as far as my memory goes! :rolleyes:0 -
Been putting a few lines on this post - but getting worried! This pregnancy thing isn't catching is it?:rotfl:
Far too old for that sort of shennanigans!;)0 -
Hi Gingham
When you say vegetables do you mean fruit too? A friend of mine gave me some rhubarb from her garden yesterday and it's going down a treat right now. Do you think you'd be able to stand it?Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Rhubarb crumble is nice with a bit of powdered ginger. Great idea, Andrea.
I have a confession. I have just had a big plate of (cough) fish and chips. I feel great. Not even a bit nauseous! First time in weeks. (It wakes me up in the night.) Well the baby is definitely not a vegetarian. Oh dear!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Have to say when I was pregnant with ds1 the only thing that cured the awful all day nausea was sausage rolls - obviously not veggie, but sometimes the stodge and grease does do the trick.“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Health food stores are quite good in that respect, I have a really nice independant one round the corner, and even though I'm not veggie anymore, I prefer to get my sweets from there as they're gelatine free. I think you're right to follow your body's cravings, as this is its way of telling you what nutrients you need. Hang in there!2015 comp wins - £370.25

I was just coming on here to post that I bought some of those capsules today and I'm hoping they will do the trick.
I also bought some peppermint tea and ginger and lemon tea which I will just have to down in one!
Hopefully this will help.0
