Block of firm tofu drained. Wrap in kitchen roll put on chopping board or plate, then place something heavy on the top, to remove as much liquid as possible.
Dry off tofu then cut into bite sized pieces. Toss in flour or cornflour.
Deep fry for a few mins until brown, or you can do this in a wok. Drain and serve.

Sweet and Sour Sauce........sorry its ages since I've made this so can't really remember, from memory I used soy sauce, tomato puree, vinegar, sugar, juice from tin of pineapples, pineapples chopped.......I kind of flung it all together and bunged over pork for OH, and I may have used a thickener, cornflour or something like that. Anyway it's something along those lines, but maybe someone else can suggest something else.

Wonderful to be pregnant but this isn't quite so wonderful for you.
Since you can manage fruit if it's juiced what about vegetable juice? I'm assuming you have a juicer but if you haven't just ignore me!
Lots of veggies are really sweet tasting when juiced, especially if you add an apple too. Beetroot is probably a bit 'earthy' for you at the moment but sweet potato & carrots might be ok, cucumber would be worth a try.
You could start by adding a couple of carrots & some ginger root to a couple of juiced apples & if you can cope with that maybe gradually try whatever veggies you're currently giving away.

Have you tried those sherbet type sweets called Refreshers? I found if I ate a few of them before I even got up in the morning and one whenever I felt a bout of sickness coming on it made it a bit better.

Don't worry about sticking to being a veggie. If you want to eat it it means the baby needs it, so it's beneficial.

Sorry I can't help with your recipes but this website:

    http://www.nutritiondata.com/

is really useful for analysing what you are eating. You can keep a log of what you eat daily/weekly and analyse it aginst an estimate of your estimated nutritional needs.

I wouldn't get too hung up on it - if you eat a normal balanced diet then your body should have stores of many nutrients which will see you and baby through this sickness patch - but it might help give you a broad idea of some options for improving your nutrition...

    Good luck!

4 oz soft butter or marg
    1oz sifted icing sugar
    5 oz plain flour

Cream butter and sugar together, then add sifted flour and stir in. Put in piping bag and pipe onto greased baking tray. Bake in oven gas mark 5, (375 degrees or 190C) for 10 mins.

Edited cos I muddled up cooking temperatures celcius and the f one- and not going to try and spell that now, been at a friends for late lunch and partook in a little glass of wine or two! Sorry if anyone got confused with my earlier temperatures.

Gingham, you poor thing, I remember it well.

At the moment the baby itself has few nutrional requirements and will get everything it needs from stores in your body, so try to eat what you can, when you can.

The most important thing, especially in this hot weather, is to maintain your fluid intake. Try Anne_Marie's ginger beer and see if you can think of any other drinks/smoothies ect that you feel you could tolerate.

I really hope you feel better soon.

    Vegetable tempura

Mix 2 cups rice flour and 1 1/2 cups iced water or very cold lager (like asahi) to a thin consistency. Use to coat vegetables, fish or chicken strips, deep fry until cooked, and serve with sweet & sour or sweet chili sauce.

If you live anywhere near a Chinese/Oriental supermarket, you should be able to get big packs of crispy fried tofu, sweet & sour sauce and spring rolls, and they'll most likely be the same kind that your takeaway is serving! Ginger is supposed to be very good for nausea, so try infusing raw chopped ginger with hot water and maybe lemon or honey. If you're ok with sweet & sour, maybe try a little bit of fresh or canned (in juice not syrup) pineapple? The citrus flavour V8 juice is really nice, and contains carrot juice.
Overall, I wouldn't worry too much about your veg consumption - ask your dr about multivitamins suitable for pregnancy, and comfort yourself with the thought of the giant bowls of veg you can have after the birth!

Boil some rice, drain and rinse, allow to drain very well.

    Yuk.

Make rice the way it's supposed to be made, not the English way.

Boil 1.5 cupfuls of water in a saucepan then add 1 cupful of washed rice.
    Do NOT stir.
When the water is no longer visible due to evaporation, pour another 0.5 cupful of salted water over the ricel.
Allow this to evaporate under the heat. DO NOT STIR.
When this has evaporated, put on the lid, turn the gas right down, and gently simmer for just 2 minutes.

    Hey presto.

Hi I'm only a few weeks pregnant but nearly every smell makes me feel ill. I've tried the eating a biscuit as soon as I wake up before I get out of bed and I think that has helped.
Every smell makes me feel sick but I've never really been able to vomit (about thrice in life) so I just have this horrible queasy feeling all day. Most strong smells make me feel ill but I think that me not eating is making me feel worse. To make things worse as soon as I find something to eat (that the thought of doesn't make me gag), as soon I've eaten it it joins the list of things I can know longer stand.

Are there any tips that people have to try and combat this or any food suggestions any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm also trying to keep the pregnancy secret for a while but don't know for how much longer!!!
