Wow! You wonderful, gorgeous lot. Thank you so much! I've just been reading through this and I feel energised and hopeful. I am going to try loads of your suggestions. Anne_Marie, I could kiss you! Thanks for the recipies.

I bought more non vegetarian sweets today again. (I never buy sweets so didn't realise.) I didn't realise how difficult it was to buy sweet, rubbishy things that are veggie. If I feel I need meat, then I will have some, though. If the baby's not veggie, I can't do anything about that! LOL

Thanks again. Your help is very much appreciated.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

Thanks Gingham, what a lovely post - feel a bit embarrassed. It was no bother at all. It was a pleasure to help. PM me if you fancy anything else vegetarian, I got a huge stack of cook books here.....OH doesn't know why I have them as never follow a recipe, just like to get ideas!

Re my earlier post about making that jelly mousse thing - believe that some of those quick set jellies can be vegetarian, so worth having a look at if you are out shopping.

Not sure if Angel Delight is vegetarian or not. Will check when out shopping next - I buy it for the rest of them, so not bothered about the veggie thing, and I rarely eat a pudding.

You are quite right to buy something non veggie if that is what your body is telling you to have. Would have no qualms about it. Don't think that I have intentionally bought non veggie food, but things weren't labelled so well many years ago, I was happily eating cheese and onion crisps, can't remember the brand, found out they weren't vegetarian - but I could have eaten the chicken flavoured which were vegetarian - weird or what?
I didn't have any cravings when pregnant, was afterwards, couldn't stop eating those really sickly doughnuts filled with some custardy filling, sort of toffee caramel topping - bet they weren't vegetarian either! (Just needed sugar and carbs as I had lost a lot of weight - took me over a year to get back to my normal weight).

Anyway, thanks and hope all goes well with you, and will cross fingers that the sickness will go away.
    :kisses:

Bit of bad grammer - so edited. (Not saying post is perfect, just had written eated, rather than eaten.)

Hi I'm only a few weeks pregnant but nearly every smell makes me feel ill. I've tried the eating a biscuit as soon as I wake up before I get out of bed and I think that has helped.
Every smell makes me feel sick but I've never really been able to vomit (about thrice in life) so I just have this horrible queasy feeling all day. Most strong smells make me feel ill but I think that me not eating is making me feel worse. To make things worse as soon as I find something to eat (that the thought of doesn't make me gag), as soon I've eaten it it joins the list of things I can know longer stand.

Are there any tips that people have to try and combat this or any food suggestions any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm also trying to keep the pregnancy secret for a while but don't know for how much longer!!!

Ginger really does help to combat sick feelings. If you aren't able to cope with that, what about sniffing some mint? If you have a mint plant, grab a leaf, rub it and have a good sniff. You can make up a drink with this - hot or cold. Good for the digestive system. You can buy peppermint tea bags - cheaper to buy a plant and use the leaves.

If not, some peppermint essential oil - put a couple of drops on a tissue and have a good wee sniff when you feel nauseous.

    Yuk.

Make rice the way it's supposed to be made, not the English way.

Boil 1.5 cupfuls of water in a saucepan then add 1 cupful of washed rice.
    Do NOT stir.
When the water is no longer visible due to evaporation, pour another 0.5 cupful of salted water over the ricel.
Allow this to evaporate under the heat. DO NOT STIR.
When this has evaporated, put on the lid, turn the gas right down, and gently simmer for just 2 minutes.

    Hey presto.

You are quite right Pablo, my apologies. And in truth, that is sort of similar to the way I cook my rice, just wrote it that way, as that is how many people cook rice in Britain.

So, this is the way I cook rice really -

    Dried rice
Bung into a sieve and rinse under cold runnning tap until water running clear (from under the sieve, not the tap water). Then I bung rice into boiling water, boil rapidly for a few mins, put lid on pan, turn heat off altogether and leave for about 5 mins. Works great.

Also I am not English - north of the border here!;) (All you English people don't take offence now, as none intended). Just get annoyed when people confuse Britain with England.
