If youve been following the thread it looks like she may have been missold her mortgage in November, hopefully they will give her consent now, have you been back to the other thread, someones just blew you out the water with one of your opinions.:rotfl:0 -
Your landlord's lender may try to repossess the property you are renting if your landlord does not keep up with their mortgage payments. If this happens, you may have some protection from eviction if your tenancy is binding on the landlord's lender. If not, your options will be more limited.
This is from the shelter website i think as long as your keeping up your mortgage payments, you wont hear anything from your lender.

You seem to enjoy posting trollish nonsense and insults, which really doesn't help the OP one iota.
I can't see how the OP was missold a mortgage - at no time would she be told that she'd definitely be given permission to let and with such a high LTV I really can't see the Halifax allowing it.0 -
The OP was told by her lender that she couldnt get consent on BTL on the SVR and was sold a more expensive product, that kinda implies that she would be able to get it on this product. (Halifax do consent to let up to 95% depending upon the individual situation)
I stand by the post i made on the other thread,
'This doesnt really affect tenants - as long as they have a roof over their head and the mortgage is still being paid - why would they care.'
I think we can all agree that this kinda thing does go on, it is naughty but there dont seem to be any real examples out there of tenants being evicted where the landlord continues to pay the rent, its to the OP if she wants to break the rules or not. Hopefully it wont come to that and she will get consent.
Oh and as for calling me personally an irresponsible borrower, there's nothing irresponsible about my borrowing, and have you heard of libel laws?Snootchie Bootchies!0 -

.
Thinking that a lender has 'kinda implied' something they haven't isn't a very strong case for misselling. Halifax offer new deals to everyone when their deal expires - it is up to the individual to decide whether they're taking it or not.
You did make me laugh out loud by threatening libel action though0 -
saying to a halifax advisor I'm thinking of letting - to be told that you cant do that on your current product, here have this new more expensive product which means your worse off, e.g which was actually less suitable' surely warrents a misselling investigation?
I didnt threaten libel action btw i asked the op who'd posted something untrue (and feel free to read the post he linked to, it hardly backs up his claims) if he's heard of libel.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -

Simply not true.
"Consent. It is essential that you advise and obtain consent to let your property from your mortgage lender, existing insurer and head lessee (for leasehold properties). Failure to obtain written consent from these parties may render your insurance void in the event of a claim. Sadly there have been many instances where buildings claims have been totally rejected because the insurer and or mortgage lender was not advised the property was let."

If she was told she would get consent to let when she took out a product with the halifax they should honour it, i had the same problem and my bank gave me consent to let when i made a official complaint and threatend them with the ombudsman.
Now you can say it trollish nonsense but it worked for me and i got consent to let a lot of these bamks will tell you what they want to get money off you, but when you come back and ask for something of them they seem to have a very short memory of what they said when they was trying to sell you the product.
She hasnt nothing to lose, i got consent and the bank changed there mind what harm has she in trying it, its obvious the bank have tried to rip her off has why would they have got her on a new product and tell her the only way she would get consent to let was if she was on a fixed, and they done this knowing she never had enough equity to get consent to let its shocking and the bank should be took to took to task about it.
I even had cash compensation when they refused mine, so why dont you think she hasnt been missold the mortgage she is currently on?0 -

I think I would be more worried if I committed mortgage fraud....your lack of knowledge of financial services/products etc is becoming embarrassing.........0
