Hi all,not been on for a (good)few days, but wanted to say hi,and hope you are all ok

.I've been busy doing my family tree stuff, amongst other things,so Joyfull,I like what you are doing. The more I do,the more interested I get in history, specially round the time of the Industrial revolution.Programmes like Cranford, and Candleford have more interest for me now because I'm thinking'thats when great Grandma was alive' etc etc.

I'm just having a little break from cleaning-we have some viewers on Thursday, prob a waste of time, then I'll get mad that I spent so much time trying to get the house to show home standard :p We'd also just decided to paint the lounge,so there are a couple of test squares on the wall.EA says not too worry.

Still cooking from scratch for most things, but tonight I'm using a Creole cook in sauce for our meat balls, can't do everything, and I still have lots to do.So I'll love you and leave you, have a good day x

A rare post from me I know, I seem to be working 9 hour days with no breaks, so just too tired to post when I get home, must try harder. I'm also using 12 boxes of paper a day, 5 reams to a box, 500 sheets to a ream, I'm single handedly killing all the trees. Today has included an ambulance, a police riot van & a fire engine!!
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Have you been in touch with your local Council to ask for advice re what your landlord has to do and what legislation applies to him as a landlord? I know that in England he would be obliged to do certain things, but am not sure about the Scottish systems... Down here it will probably be the Environmental Protection or Housing Enforcement team who can help.

    Hi Floss,

The laws are different in Scotland, but the present installation does not conform to present standards.

Our LL is known for being very stubborn, he has made what he considers to be a fair offer.....to take out the stove and the fireplace and replace it with an electric fire of some description.......this is what he has done in all the other houses he owns, and believe me he owns a few, half the county actually.

So we are at stalemate, its his house and there is no way I am moving again. I love where we are living and the peace. I am using up the wood and solid fuel we bought, and then the fire will come out and we will have an electric one that looks like a woodburner standing on a small hearth. at least it will give us some more room in the sitting room.

    WoodBurner-3.jpg

This is what we would like to have replaced with a smaller stove and a fire surround which was more in keeping with the room.

We also lost the battle over the oil bill although he has given me a written undetaking that when/if we leave he will pay us for the fuel thats in the tank......so I suppose I have to put up and shut up.

We have just got back from Motherwell, we found the place easily and spent over £70.....we asked a chap for some brilliant white paint and OH remarked that we had come from Edinburgh, he gave us some really interesting news apparently Wilko's are opening a shop in Livingstone which is only a few miles away, they have plans to open more stores in Eastern Scotland, so fingers crossed for one closer to us.

Spag bol for supper.....last of the crumble for dessert.

    Afternoon all

Another busy day working on the community garden with work, 11kids in today so pretty good turnout. We were quite lucky with the weather, had no rain til half1, we worked for 45mins in the rain and then finished 2.15pm. It was a fun day, they were good company. Got home nice and early too :D

I think I'll make fajitas for dinner. But we shall see if I can be bothered to cook a proper meal or just have something from the freezer.

    Have a good evening all

    Candygirl- love the avatar!

Seem to be MIA alot lately, time is flying past as it is my busiest time of the year at work (tax year end, accounts year end and all that) Been on a tax course today which was really riveting (yawn!) but at least got home early.

Charlie puppy is actually driving me bananas, he is sooooo playful and is struggling dragging OH's slippers into his basket at the moment - will be nice and soggy for when OH gets in from work now:rotfl: He is gorgeous though - the dog not the man!!!(sorry Steve!)lol

Have decided to put our new(ish) caravan on a seasonal site and have just done a great deal on a site we really liked, so am really pleased with that. We exchange our caravan on Sunday and can take it straight over to the new site so am very excited now. I love the caravan but hated the towing part (well particularly the getting the caravan back on our drive down the side of our house bit - the air was so blue every time OH backed it up - him not me! lol) So I am delighted that it will be on a seasonal pitch now and we can just go whenever we want now. Fingers crossed for some friendly fun neighbours on the site!

Jackets, chicken casserole (from freezer, last of batch) and veg for tea. Wm has worked overtime today but it is now raining here so it is on airers to dry.

    Have a good evening all
