What on God's earth were you doing to get a £370 electric bill vix? The mind boggles... tumble dryer, blow heaters and everything else all at once?

Thats 3 and a bit months worth, consisting of the way my water is heated and my electric heaters in the flat. They swallow it up good and proper.

Vix - what's the best/correct way to measure yourself for a bra?

I've tried a couple of methods and always within few weeks am cursing because I'm coming out of all the wrong places when I'd rather remain covered and where it should be :o Sadly I've inherited the family very ample bossom - which isn't helped by being overweight I know.

Have got a good sports bra though -but need something more everyday that keeps everything where it should be :) Nothing worse than having to go to see the boss and discreetly making sure there are no strange lumps enroute
Best way is to get someone else to do it for you. You cant measure yourself, only as a guide, but that would only be for the band size and not the cup size. I cant ever do myself, i never trust my own judgement!

What you want to do is go to a good shop (not m&s) and get your self fitted into a bra properly. If they get a tape measure out to measure around your boobs then leave quickly. If they dont use one at all, stay put! Tell the fitter you want a good quality bra that will hold you up and however else you want them to look.

Then let me know how it goes.
  • Funny you are talking about bra's ......... after a wait of 5 weeks I finally got my shock absorber today :j And I have to say I am very impressed with the comfort, So keen to try it I came home from work got changed and did an biggest looser aerobic workout :j and it was still comfortable :D So thank you Vixarooni for your advice :T Still having problems with a normal bra had my 3rd fitting today in the same independant retailer but when they come through they don't seem to want to fit properly :( Ah well at least they are not giving up.

We have been having glorious weather but I have been ill over the weekend with suspected tonsilitis and felt terrible, Lucky I am feeling a little better today (have lost the razor blade in the throat feeling!) So all the wonderful exercise I was wanting to do never got off the planning stage. Oh well best laid plans and all that ........

Eric - well done on your target :T

Retiredlady - great loss too well done :T

Victory - glad your shower got sorted but yes check the wattage we don't want you to have a nasty accident

Beanie - what flavour sunbites? I like the new sunroasted chilli ones :D

Fredsnail - Goodluck with the Bra fitting

I can vouch for Scotland having a mini heatwave, we've been here since Saturday and it's been absolutely beautiful - people outside sunbathing and everything!

Same in Wales - no coats or jumpers required.

Mmm - that means quite a trek for me then - no bra shops locally (unless you count Tesco ). Thanks for the advice - there is a new D'hams opening soon which is a bit closer so I might go when they open to try them out.

have been walking quite a lot (about 10km, not a lot by Missy's standards :rotfl::rotfl:)

10 km is a long walk for me Granny! I've only done 9 walks longer than that in the last six months! Most of mine are about 6-7 km.

Eric, Marion well done on the losses! Sorry if I've missed others!

GN - thanks for the invite. Given how unwell BB was are you sure you want me to visit?

Well, I'll talk to BB about it as I'm hoping to see her next week (see how I slipped that in all casual like as if I wasn't VERY excited :j:j).

Fredsnail - Goodluck with the Bra fitting

Just in case you are not inclined to take up Eric's inccredibly kind offer .... Make a special trip R!gby and P£ller if there is one within reach. Horrendously expensive, but in my opinion worth it, as they will fit you with a bra that really truly fits. Once you've had a bra from there you can judge much better what fits you (even if you go into the dreaded M?S lingerie department). And if you add up the cost of all the bras you've bought that don't fit the cost of one RP bra that does isn't so bad. Works for those who are well endowed and also those who are more streamlined.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: But Missy that's only becasue you'd be running, not walking.

Vix - just push the multiquote button on all the posts you want to answer, then when you've finished push reply. All the mutliquote icons go red so you know you've 'caught' them. The reply screen then has all the posts on it reay for you to answer. HTH.
