bettyb: your percentage is probably different to mine, im very pear shaped and all my fat is on the lower half generally. Goal wise im not really aiming for a figure, or even to actually lose weight. I know that sounds weird but im actually enjoying just exercising for the first time in my life. Im going with a group of girls and we all change machines at the gym so we all get to chat to each other as we go around and then if we do a class were all there for each other, its great and keeps the motivation up. I think weve all hit an age now where the weight has crept on slowly since our teenage years and were all like arggh gross! I'd love to weigh 9 stone somthing though!! One thing im finding tricky atm is eating food to exercise with and drinking enough. Been feeling quite ill and that i need to go to bed straight after i exercise lately so i need to sort that out. Im rambling on here... ha
True we probably have much different body shapes etc, just made me feel a bit less alone knowing that someone here is the same age and size/weight as me. Need all the motivation I can get at the mo - seems to be the more I concentrate on 'dieting' the more i eat and more i weigh!
Am going to try to cut out alcohol for a while and see if that helps speed things up. I want to lose 1 stone by August - I think it's fairly realistic so long as i keep exercising regularly as that seems to make the biggest difference for me. the more i do the better i feel and the less i eat! Seems like thinking about dieting just makes me feel bad and then I eat sweet things to feel better
I am trying the lots of small meals idea to see if this gets me through the day without snacking on biscuits!!
today's plan looks like this:
10:00 Cereal and skim milk
12:30 Seeded Bagel and low fat cream cheese
2:30 Salad with low fat dressing
4:30 yoghurt or small snack
7:00 chicken with rice and low fat sauce and veggies
any thoughts or recommendations?
thanks
B.
PS - I made the Cook Yourself Thin version of Katsu Curry the other night, using cornflakes as breadcrumbs seems wierd but it was really nice and just like the real thing from Wagamamas but much lower fat and cals!!!:)

Vix When I first started exercising I used to find I got really tired an hour or two later, used to annoy my friends if we were going out cos I'd practically fall asleep at the table. Luckily I seemed to have stopped this, which is good as I now exercise at lunchtimes sometimes and it would be bad having a nap at work.0

The way my day has gone I think having a nap at work would just set it all off perfectly.0

Hezza - I wish I could goto sleep at work I have been run off my feet today and could of done with a 10 min power nap. But I know what you mean when it is quiet and you don't have much to do your working day can drag and 10 mins feels like 1 hour! Hope it gets better for you xRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

BB I've got fairly bog-standard Salter body analyser scales which sound similar to others with the saved user details etc. I like the ones that let you set your level of fitness, because bioimpedance analysis method apparently overestimates the body fat % of leaner muscular people by 2-5%, and underestimates by the same amount for overweight people (I believe this is in addition to the ordinary margin of error of about 3-4%).
Eric your ones look fab, I have an Omron pedometer and it's far and away the best one I've ever owned so if I was replacing my scales I'd probably go for the same!
Vix it's great to hear you're enjoying your exercise! :j Hope you can get the tiredness sorted, it may be unrelated to the exercise, but if you experiment with mealtimes and food types you'll find out what works best for you. My plan of 5-6 smaller meals per day seems to help me avoid energy dips.
Have a good week this week everyone, and good luck with the weigh ins!0 -
Oh I knew I shouldn't eat that! Just been food shopping and wanted some venison but they ran out so I thought I'd treat myself to some steak instead, haven't had red meat for a while and thought it'd be good for iron levels and assumed that if I'd cooked it it would be lovely. Unfortunately much as it tasted nice its now making my stomach hurt!! Lesson learned I think.0

Have you ever considered going on a lower carb diet? It may be that your body does not like carbs especially refined carbs.
My body certainly seams a lot happier on reduced carbs and not eating any refined carbs, I am on about 32% carb intake at the moment.0
