    Feeling vulnerable? :rotfl:

I had a friend with coeliac disease and she had plenty of symptoms, but I don't remember her putting headaches down to it. Everyone's different though. Why do you need an excuse to stop eating pasta? I love it!

    LL :)

    not vulnerable just isolated!!

i am using pasta because i cant find calories for my diet-i tried nuts but got stuffed up' i am not a potato fan-i am now getting the right amount of pure protein but seek a calorie boost that is relatively healthy -if i dont eat pasta my count drops below 1000 and i am exercising heavily and need about 1400 to feel good-any alternative ideas because i didnt enjoy todays prolonged headache-i had 5 classes of children to teach and need to feel A1 !

de1amo - can you eat rice or couscous instead? Have you tried a wholewheat, or even egg pasta instead of durum wheat one? I find that white pasta doesn't satisfy me as much as other meals.

What about eating more calorie dense, but healthy foods, such as advocados, or just making your portions of veg & protein more generous, or having a small dessert of yogurt & museli? If you're finding it hard to eat large portions, then stick with eating more often with smaller meals. If you ate every couple of hours you'd manage to get your calorie intake in.

I once dated an olympic athlete, and he'd eat a whole chicken at 11pm, just to make sure he was getting the high protein into his body each day. You need to feed your body to get the best out of it.

My OH now does bodybuilding, and he eats a strict diet, and eats ever few hours. When he was trying to build muscle and bulk up last year, he used protein (whey) supplements because he struggled to eat the amount of calories he needed. It was an ideal way of taking on board 300cals in a small drink. Maybe food for thought?

Cheered myself up no end today by buying a new camera!! I had been saving up for a while via my £2-coin piggy bank, my quidco payouts and ebay sales. Spotted the one I wanted on tesco.com but popped into Jessops on the offchance today - they had the same model for £20 more but agreed to match the tesco price - yay!! It is now all mine, far better than my old camera, cant wait to start playing :D:D

İ tried to shift to wholewheat yeaterday and the headache was even worse-rice where i live is used insead of potatoes in the diet so that switch will be easy and i have no intolerance to it.

İ hadnt thought of vegetables as a calorie giver--they are plentiful and cheap here but tend to be seasonal because they only use home grown stuff --last month it was artichokes and now its some strange green crab apple thing--veg shops are abundant though and they have the basics year round--i will learn if advocadoes are grown in turkey now!!

de1amo that certainly sounds like some sort of intolerance. But wheat is one of those foods, if you cut it out you do notice the bloating feelings and headaches when you go back on to it.

Hark at my with advice when I'm sitting eating left over chinese for breakfast :rotfl:

on this diet i have really cut back on wheat with only about 100grams of bread a day--i feel a lot better in myself but i thought that was doing some exercise--it wouldnt surprise me because of my mother's problem with wheat--maybe i am just intolerant and not a full celiac--i also gave up drinking lager(and all alcohol) in january but didnt notice any change in mood--i havent noticed the change in bloatedness but i have lost 6kgs really quickly--i thought ther belly reduction was a part of that--i will cut right down and see if i go back to before!-enjoy your chinese-diet of course lol
(if by bloatedness you mean windy city?? that went away and returned after i started on the pasta--is that a sign of intolerance?)-i thought it was just eating more calories--i am a total novice like most men apart from Eric on how food and diet works lol
