its my partners car, he has agreed for nissan to do it and is all of a panic about getting it done by the right people in case his brakes go.
he hasnt even questioned them about what they are doing, how much parts and labour is etc. i rang nissan on saturday morning and she told me the price, he had originally told me that they told him it was 180quid
he is reluctant to consider searching around for quotes but we dont have the money to pay excessively for things like this. he thinks that only nissan should do it and wont consider anything else because they will be 'cowboys'
if we buy the parts on the internet, how do we make sure they are quality pieces?0 -
we've only been driving a couple of years each and are not car people, i persuaded him at a late stage in life to drive and own a car (he was adamant he would never do this) and so we're not really knowledable about these things0

Do it yourself, it really is a very simple job to do (litrally a few bolts then slip off/on)
It is a simple job and, perversely, that is why it is hardly worth doing yourself unless you are confident. The labour element is small. Get a quote from a decent local independent. They might even fit items you've sourced yourself. Many places won't for insurance reasons.0 -

You would be amazed how many 3 year old cars that i MOT that fail on heavily pitted brake discs.
I would'nt be too worried about the wear advisory at this stage to be honest.dealers do tend to do that alot to get work in.Sorry:money:
